If the federal government sent each and every one of us a $600

Rebate........As was done in the U.S of A. Recently.

--------------

If we spend it at Wal-Mart, the money will go to China .

-----------

If we spend it on gasoline, the money will go to the Arabia.

------------

If we purchase a computer it will go to India

-----------------------------------.

If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico , Honduras and Guatemala

--------------

If we purchase a car, it will go to Japan or Mexico .

-----------

If we purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan.

and none of it will help the Canadian economy.

-------------

The only way to keep the money here at home is to spend it on

Independent Service providers, Massage Parlours (non micro), weed, beer, rye whisky, tattoos and hockey tickets since these are the only products still produced in CANADA.

Thank you for your help and please support your country!

Absolutely!!

The consumer has the power! If they want to cut wages in plant operations, because the plant owners feel the need for more 'profit' the result will be plant workers now restricted in their ability to support the economy we have....which is based on consumerism.

After I left a well paying job to stay home with the kids (apres divorce) society lost an excellent consumer! I lived on a credit card that was payed off each month! But then, I had to become very stingy to make ends meet and this habit is hard to lose now.

If everyone else was as cheap as I am now the countries economy would be in ruins...

I rarely shop now, but when I need something I make it a point to shop at the little "Mom and Pop" stores, and I look for things made in Canada, or at least the US!

Big Box stores I avoid completely!

I hate giving my business to a company that doesn't have an office in my town employing locals...like telus...they shut their office down here, but, not much I can do about that one!

I give to charities that work for the homeless in my area, and I try to give my used jackets etc.. to places that give them directly to the poor, not reselling them to the public...

I can heat my home on $5 dollars a week now, and that means warmer clothing and a lower temp. but all very good for the body! Burns calories! As for food, if you avoid prepackaged crap and make things from scratch you save a bundle and eat healthier.

My two bits...shaved down to one and three quarters..

your mom says hi.
totally agree with the not shopping at wal mart thing. though i must say, there are still products out there that are produced in canada, you just have to look a little harder. i buy canadian whenever i can.

check out a cool clothing store down on west 4th, its called ironhead.

almost everything (with a few exceptions) totally produced in canada. check it out

http://www.ironhead.com/

the website doesn't really do the clothing line justice though. go down to the store and take a look.

Protectionism does not work, even more so when it is being touted by an idiot.
