I know its a stupid question I cant seem to find an unbiased answer out there.

So called green powder supplements that claim to give you 10 servings of vegetables a day from one scoop cause they are extracts, do they really work ?

What about the extract powder supplement made out of berries are they worth while or not...

Just trying to be healthy to continue drilling for a long long time.

IS there a website that provides honest answers out there based on studies .

I never thought Id be posting hear for a question as this...

There are some benefits from taking a 'green' supplement but
watch out what you are taking and paying for:

1. Men should avoid soy, soy lecithin, licorice, lavender, and flax.

2. For those 'berry' based greens you would be better off just adding
a cup of frozen berries to a shake ... makes getting the greens powder
down easier.

3. Avoid those based on 'wheat grass' or 'alfalfa' ... both are not
good in large doses.

Instead, find one that is based on veggies ... like broccoli, spinach,
cauliflower, cabbages etc ...

Thanks for your reply.
You mention some benefit ?

Can you recommend one green powder....
I take a spoon of grounded flax seed every day I always thought it was good for you.

Any other supplement you can recommend.

i can't remember off the top of my head, but next time i am in
the health food store i will grab some and let you know ...

basically it is one that has nothing but veggies in it ... green and
purple label ...

the benefit is that you get more greens in your diet without eating
a crate of broccoli everyday ...

the cost is the cost ...

flax has been found to raise estrogen in men ... better off taking
a fish based oil instead for the omega-3's

I use one of the greens+
the stuff tastes just horrible. I mix it with V8 to mask the taste.
It does give you a good energy boost in the mornings.

If you decide to use these, take it slow, like a third serving size the first few days and work up. You could get the runs otherwise

you get the "greens" benefit (ie. the phytonutrients and many of the minerals) but you don't get the fibre benefit. nor do the greens give you everything that eating the actual vegetables would. consume them if you must, cuz it's better than nothing but it should not take the place of eating fruits and veggies.

I've been drinking a glass of greens at 10, 12 and 2:00 PM with a glass of berries at 8:00 and 4:00 with a heaping plate of cooked vegetable at 6:00.

Down six pounds since Monday AM.

Hoping for a better golf swing.
