Over the past year and a half of being a provider occasionally I have had articles left behind by mistake. These include watches, jewelry, sunglasses, underwear (not sure how it is possible to leave them behind) and other miscellaneous items. I have been holding onto some of them for 18 months now and was wondering just how long should I hang onto this stuff before I put it in a box to Philippines to donate to some less fortunate (minus the underwear) lol.

Suggestions anyone?

on yer ignore list
if there was a 1 month category, i would have voted for that

if a dude doesn't notice something missing within 24 hours, and do something positive to fix the situation, than the item means less than nothing to him, and the item can be considered abandonned

I'd say your best lost and found policy is being able to contact the client if something is left behind, of value......underwear not so much. While there may be some merit to da cowboys comment there is another consideration.......the guy may just think you ripped him off. While he may not come back to you on that, there are these boards and some of us do talk to each other, in person or by pm. Just a thought.

Well I always try to contact the person that left the item behind if I can figure out who it is. I have found a item that was in a spot that I wouldn't notice right away and can't call all my clients I have seen over the last week. I also have a policy of never calling or messaging clients unless they do first. So if I don't notice the item immediately I am kinda out of luck to contact them. Also I doubt they would like it if I posted on perb that Tom at 604 *** **** left his watch behind, if someone knows him could you contact him.... Most that come to see me if they are a perb member they don't mention it or give me a handle to pm them at. Maybe 1 out of 50 clients inform me they are a perb member or any other board member to that matter. So I am limited to get the information of their left article to them. I think most people know me after coming to see me that they can feel comfortable to call me up and ask if I have found their item and if they can come and pick it up, I'm just that type of person and most of the time they do and I keep it safe for them until they get here.

Watches, eyeglasses, jewelry - sell it on Craigslist or ebay.

Underwear? Seriously? Use the tongs and throw em away.

If they never bothered to contact you at least by 96 hours after the session they obviously don't care about their stuff.

I left a watch at an incall where the SP was email only. After 8 emails outside the incall she buzzed me back in to get it. This wasn't your garden variety Seiko either. ;)

Now I put all my possessions in a pile on the kitchen counter at the incall and do a mental checklist as I am leaving.

I have a table where I suggest everyone put all their 'stuff', then I check to make sure clients have everything before they leave.

I did have one client who was totally thrilled to find out I'd kept his favourite ball cap for him to reclaim when he returned several years later, lol.

I'd say it would matter on the value of the item...Big difference between a solid silver Rodeo buckle, or a gold ring, than a pair of skid marked boxer briefs, from Wal Mart.
If the item is important enough, and you are easy to contact, via phone or email...the client would make an effort.
