Just another sorry strip club in Winnipeg. The drinks are not as $$ as Teasors or The Gentleman's Club (Rip-off Joints). Average looking girls, very seldom anyone selling private shows although that isn't a bad thing given what you get for your $$ in Winnipeg. Atleast the Gentleman's Club, Teasers, Balmoral and Centerfolds were designed as strip clubs (Stage and seating arrangements) where this place is obviously a Bar/Nightclub that somebody said "Let's turn this into a strip club" but didn't do anything to the interior. As a place to go for a beer with some buddies and shoot pool after work, its like 50 other bars on a Friday afternoon. As a Strip Club it sucks (but then so does every other place in this town). I feel a trip to Montreal coming on!
Oh sure Gator ... make the rest of us feel like crap. Good thing I spent a quality hour with a very fine lady this afternoon ... otherwise I'd be very wistful about Montreal strip clubs.
As for Strip and Rip ... its sad ... I think its far worse than the others ... but all of them are pretty bad. I dropped into the Balmoral on Thursday evening for a quick drink ... the stage dancer had to be the ugliest stripper I'd ever seen. I felt embarassed watching her up there.
Montreal ... the Nirvanna of strip clubs. Give us a full report Gator.

Compare the Strip Clubs today from the mid-late 80's in Winnipeg.
That was a good time for the world of exotica ... the old Tourist Hotel (the original Teasers) led the way for all other clubs.
The Friday Jamborees were a hoot, we'd follow the best girls to each location and get incredible attention for our actions.
Here is my ranking of the clubs back then,
1 - Teasers 1 (Tourist Hotel)
2 - Centerfolds (Continental Hotel - now it's Topo Gigio's)
3 - Teasers 2 (Challet Hotel)
4 - Wellington's (St. Charles)

Best of my recollection, the Teasers in the Chalet hotel is the only survivor. The Centerfolds name was picked up by the Concord Hotel (on the corner of McPhillips & Notre Dame), but it's a pale shadow of the old Centerfolds, or so I've been told.mecca_00 said:

Balmoral
Unless changed recently, Club Fantasy at the Balmoral Hotel does offer lap dancing unofficially on monday evenings. The owner doesn't work that day and the deejays turn a blind eye to all the Lap dancing that goes on in there.
Cost usuually is double @ $40, but can be haggled down to $25 and the quality of the lap dance is pretty bad as compared to other cities, but it's kind of fun getting sit on by the regular dancers you normally see jamming the clubs all over Winnipeg.
But like Tom, I'm very rarely there myself.
As for Rip N Strip, I was told by an ex dancer that the new place is rumoured to be owned by Hell's Angels.

I was in the Balmoral on a Monday night a few weeks before Xmas. Maybe 8 people in the whole place ... two girls working the floor, but their idea of working was hanging with their buddies and chatting. Not one was actually approaching customers seeing if they wanted a dance. So no lap dancing that I could see. I was kind of hoping it was still happening. Maybe someone else has better info as to whether lap dances are still on on Mondays at the Balmoral.

Used to be a good meeting place for guys to get together and enjoy some scenery. Very spacious, lots of pool tables, never seemed to be kept clean enough. Maybe it is better now?
