Sorry.

I was just trying to offer some objective advice for someone who asked an honest question, I did not want to start a war here.

You know the one thing that separates me from most of you on this board (the ladies are excluded here of course)?

The fact that even though a lot of the members know who I am in real life, I still step up and speak my mind. So you can hide behind your screen names, and name call all you like, but in the end, at least I am man enough to step up and offer some advice to someone.

Since you all seem so curious about my background on WHY I know as much as I do about steroids I will give you the back story.

I acquired a lung infection while on a business trip to Winnipeg, that infection turned into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis which led to me being bed ridden and almost dying. ALL of my muscle atrophied and I was unable to carry on basic daily tasks let alone "hit the gym" to feel "better about myself". My doctor told me he wanted to put me on a combination of Concerta and a cycle of Dianabol.

I am very Zen in my approach to life, I do not drink, I do not smoke, and I do not engage in ANY recreational drugs. I eat relatively healthy, and I regularly exercise.

So when I was told I was going to have to use steroids I was just like a few of you on here, I thought my hair was going to fall out, my penis was going to stop working, and every possible side effect I had ever heard ran through my head.

So before I agreed to the Steroids I learned everything I could about them. I read hundreds of studies, and also read the complete drug profile on every steroid there was. In the end I read about 20 different books, every medical study I could get my hands on, every message board I could find, until I realized that steroids were not as bad as people made them out to be when used properly. All the horror stories you hear are people abusing steroids, or using them improperly.

So I did a couple cycles of Dbol using the doctor prescribed methods, and it worked like you would not believe. Within 4 months the muscle atrophy had been reversed. I am happy and healthy today because I did it.

Do I do it now? No.

Would I do it again? Yes.

I personally know about 23 people that use steroids and of that 23 I would honestly say that about 6 abuse them. It all depends of what kind of personality you have, and what you are seeing steroids as. If you see it as a short cut that you can use INSTEAD of hard work, then that can be where the problems come in. If you use it in a proper program WITH hard work it can be a tool that allows you to reach your goals.

Everything is dangerous if it is abused. How many people drink until their liver fails?

how many people abuse pain killers or sleeping pills?

So before you condemn everyone who uses steroids, take the time to realize that there ARE people who use them safely without side effects. I have read over 60 published medical studies from doctors that show that steroids when used as directed have no irreversible long term side effects.

Feel free to bash me now and try to show everyone how much smarter you are than me, a dumb steroid user, but I am done with this topic.

I offered my advice, you can take it or leave it. That's the great thing about free will. But I don't see the need to bash someone for doing their homework on a topic, and offering their advice based on medical research and personal experience.

Sadly.

Here in Canada a doctor can't prescribe Dianabol, so my doctor WAS the one who told me to find someone at the gym to get them from (he gave my the name of a person and the gym to go to, so that helped substantially). I can thank Health Canada for that one. My doctor disagrees with Health Canada on Dianabol, and has had to send about 17 patients to his "gym contact" for help.

So the way I told him to do it, is the only way it can be done SAFELY here in Canada (reputable local dealers cut down on fake gear which is huge on the net). In the U.S. doctors can prescribe any steroid so there is no issue. The biggest thing about steroids is the dosages are VERY exact, you start with a "test" dosage the first week (which is half the recommended to see how you respond), then you bump up to the "recommended" dosage for 2 weeks (while watching for side effects, you may have to dial back if you have problems), then you decrease to the "weaning" dosage (Lower than recommended again), then you do post therapy (clomid or nolvadex) to wipe out the estrogen. Then you run clean. If you screw up anywhere along the way it makes for problems you hear about.

Strangely it was easier for me to get the Steroids than the Concerta which required a controlled drug prescription which had to be filled within 12 hours and registered to me with my photo ID at the pharmacy.

you and i were making the same arguement but coming at it from 2 different directions. neither of us believes that roids should be used for ego building purposes. your experience was in a controlled situation, monitored by a doctor, for health reasons. that is a far cry from the amateur chemists who indulge in all manner and dosages of roids to build muscles. they are healthy to start and then gamble that health for stupid reasons.

your doctor put you onto a supplier he felt you could trust...many do not have that luxury and are at the mercy of the big guy in the corner of the gym.

all of the people i knew who indulged in the roid experiment were doing it to lift more weight, to win a contest, or to impress? everyone else in the gym. none had health problems..except between the ears....my apologies if i came across as painting you as an advocate of unsupervised use for vanity reasons only.

I can't believe the reaction to steroids here.

Booze, 420 and steroids all alter the human body and it's natural state.

Of those, steroids are probably the safest.

I'll venture a guess and say most (if not all) of the nay sayers have used some sort of mind/body altering drug in the last year.

Yet very quickly jumped all over the drug they don't use.

Most are not even speaking from a voice of experience, but simply stating as many negatives as you can and are more tolerant of smokers, a drug with no real purpose.

Booze is legal and the other 2 are also with a doctors prescription. Personally I am drug free and am quick to pounce on steroids bought from any drug pusher. Don't think I know anyone who sucks back a 12 pack to add muscle as I'm sure you don't. I guess what I'm saying is your argument (statement) is pretty weak.
Steroids are also legal with a prescription.

My point is that most drink to alter their state of mind (same with 420) Of course they don't suck back a 12 pack to add muscle. But if they are drinking that excessively, they are trying to alter something.

so with a 2nd look, it is actually your statement that is weak (good set up for steroid joke here)

You are drug free?

Never had a drink, never smoked pot? or just not recently?

With that mentality, I am surprised the "420 friendly SP" thread didn't get beat on.

...use whatever you want...I really don't care ;)
Thank you for permission, but I haven't used steroids in close to 20 years.

I just think it is hypocritical to beat on someone because they don't share your exact view of which drugs and activities are OK and which are not OK.

However I do agree that this is not the best place to look for advice.
