This is a bad idea. The street scene has moved mostly online. If you do find street strollers, you're more likely to get caught in a sting, or worse, you'll be assaulted and robbed. Winnipeg's North End is so much rougher than Calgary's roughest areas. Without exaggeration, Forest Lawn, Ogden, East Village, and other rougher parts of Calgary don't hold a candle to the bad parts of the North End.

Stick to the options mentioned in your other thread. Winnipeg's small and it'll take you 20 minutes during off-peak hours to get to most places, even from St. Vital. For reference, it's a 19 minute drive to get from St. Vital to Emma's incall and 15 minutes to St. Boniface where you'll have more options. There are also some AMPs along the way on St. Mary's and St. Anne's.

Yep, listen to ronabat. Trust us, you do NOT want a street roller here in Winnipeg. We don’t want you getting robbed here.

Also note that Manitoba has declared a public health emergency due to HIV rates within the province.
HIV rates are rising among in northern communities and the lower class.
Street walkers today are doing it largely due to their lower class and lack of access to proper resources.

Not sure I would refer to them as the “ Lower class “ .

They are a group who face systemic racism in the health care system , and represent the sad impacts of colonialism, inter generational trauma and lack of access to care .

I was referring mostly to addicts and not race, however addiction does afflict first nations disproportionately.

From the Manitoba Government HIV program report:

“Indigenous Peoples, especially females, were disproportionately affected. Among all
females referred to the MB HIV Program, 85.1% of them self-identified as Indigenous”

When the board comedian shows how uninformed he is . Priceless!!!!

Bro, like everyone else mentioned you have no idea what this area of the city is like. Whe I first moved here in the mid 2000s my real estate agent refused to go there...and it's way worse now.
Sign up for the city of winnipeg police news release emails....will give you an idea. And a cop told me once you only hear about 10% of the major crimes, through news and the new releases.

Kinda sad seeing the core North end how it is now. It was a bit rough in the 80s-2000. It's like a war zone on some streets. Grew up on Pritchard and Salter. Do not get a SW.

I grew up in the north end as well and it's a shame to see how bad it's gotten. There used to be pockets within the neighbohood where it wasn't so rough, locals knew what was safe and what wasn't, but it's a war zone now. I'm not a small guy, I can handle myself in a scrap but I won't get out of my truck in the north end, especially at night.
