Make sure you have an iron will as you should be in it for the long haul and there will be sharp ups and downs in the market. Balance your portfolio too and don't throw everything into the risky or flat calm stuff. Some of us " pooner hobbiest " actually have careers/ jobs. Don't assume unless you know them personally or know what they do for a living. As for stock trading tips. I have many, but in this realm of work, best to read books, take courses etc, because many wouldn't understand " call options, puts, shorting and so on. Myself, I'm more of a buy and hold investor and have built a nice portfolio over time. My approach is that I don't " play " the market. I look at balance sheets, debt to cash, FCF etc. I have different strategies but again, what works for me won't work for others.
Most excellent. Please feel free to share your procedures for informational, educational and entertainment purposes 🌟Some of us " pooner hobbiest " actually have careers/ jobs. Don't assume unless you know them personally or know what they do for a living. As for stock trading tips. I have many, but in this realm of work, best to read books or take courses because many wouldn't understand " call options, puts, shorting and so on. Myself, I'm more of a buy and hold investor while taking advantage of many opportunities that arrive while keeping cash at hand at all times. That comment may mean numerous events relating within the markets. But that's another ball gm.
I have built a nice portfolio over time and my approach is, I don't " play " the market. I look at balance sheets, debt to cash, FCF etc. I have different strategies but again, what works for me won't work for others. The financial markets is a never ending game with ample of avenues involved.
So true…I look for good dividend yields, low payout ratios and an annual history of increasing dividends year over year at rates greater than inflation…Make sure you have an iron will as you should be in it for the long haul and there will be sharp ups and downs in the market. Balance your portfolio too and don't throw everything into the risky or flat calm stuff.
Well like any professional group there are some undesirable types. However it truly seems as though the industry is making great strides to mitigate infamous practices…By buddy use to say there's a reason why they're called investment brokers because the more you use them the broker you get

“BUY” Buddy 😂You mean " My buddy " and not "By buddy "![]()
Well…I’m pretty certain there’s never 👎🏻 been a ten year period of time in The History of The TMX where it hasn’t made positive returns. If, as or when you contributed to CPP at least a portion of the money 💵 is invested in “stocks”. And, no, by no measure are blue chip stocks a pyramid scheme however you might come across that, rarely, in Junior Markets or Over The Counter Trading or Bulletin Boards…A glorified pyramid scheme. I don't have the stomach for handing over something I worked my entire life for, on some pie in the sky promises. I'm not a multi millionaire but I retired at 57 and live comfortably with no debt or mortgage the market is cyclical, just look at all the union pensions that take it in the teeth. Seems like every decade they're losing their shirts.
I invest in stocks and trade them to embellish returns. My main strategy is scale trading. Purchase a stock and then buy more on its decline and then sell some on its advance. I trade off five day lows and highs. The other day, trading Rogers Communications, I made 1.9% in an hour on a chunk however that’s unusual. Most trades take a week or so to make +/- 2% inclusive of commissions however excluding dividends. It’s highly gratifying…As @Equity Market investor said get educated. The title of you post asks about 'Trading' yet most of your comments are about 'Investing' which are 2 very different strategies and if you mix them up you will go broke
