Also heard on the radio if you happen to test positive for Covid questions will be asked about who you’ve seen and where you’ve been.

Explain that one to the authorities and potentially a SO if you happened to spend an hour at a local MP then get tested positive a week later!

My dentist as did the office I get RMT and chiro work done have both sent out emails saying they’re shutting down for 2 weeks amid the concerns!

I was going to book a dental appointment, but decided against it, since it (again) involves too much close contact.
Lucy I did - apparently there was a big dental convention in Vancouver in early March which has been identified as a place where COVID has spread from / through.
So let's just say your dentist may be well protected from you, but what about you from him?

Questions may be asked - the answers you give are totally up to you. 'Nowhere in particular' sounds like a good one. Or do you think there'll be an investigation launched into your every move for the last few weeks?

The way i see it, you stop pooning for now = you save alot of money and you lower the risk of getting the virus. That’s a win-win for me. It’s just sad it had to come to this for me to stop.

I’ve been fighting the urge because the social distancing methodology seems like the right thing to do for everyone in Canada. I thought about being selfish since I’m healthy and in my 30s, but the less contact we all have with each other the better. It’s been hard not to go out to bars and restaurants either, but I’m a believer in the math and the science. No hoarding here but I’m being diligent about my household food and products.

I have stopped for a month or more. But I did give my friendly SP of five years $1200 just to help out cause I could afford to and wanted to. She will probably run dry in a few weeks. Then what?

I was not worried and then I watched these videos from Dr Peter Attia:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_yu7wIsS6o

They made me decide it was not worth the risk to others or myself.

What amazes me is that restaurants and ski resorts are shutting down even the borders but pooning seems to be just going on a usual!

Seems to point out this is more of an addiction then just recreation.

There is a lot of good information on this subject out there which certainly confirms to me that my month long break will have to be extended for a while yet. I do want to say thank you to Miss Hunter, Rouge Collective, Kinky Katey and some of our other SP''s who have been weighing in with some very good points, articles and suggestions and not being afraid to call out some of the posters who have some odd ideas....it appears they are reading a number of these threads and following the situation just like we are. I suspect a lot of other ladies are doing the same...I am relatively new following the forum and using Perb again but getting their perspective on the situation is what this conversation needs too.

Unfortunately, the best way to thank them and show them some respect is not to see them for a while, which is too bad but if things do get back to some sort of "normail" I know who I am going to see first...and thank you Rouge Collective for your suggestions on how to help out...I think there are a few there that I can particpate in...Stay healthy everyone

I would say that it is a good idea to refrain, at least until things have progressed a bit and we have a better idea of how it is going to work out. The risk may be lower in those under 60, but it is still higher than what you might see for flu.

Maybe 1 in 200 in the younger demographic will die compared to 1 in 1000 or 10000 for flu, but it would suck if you are that 1. Plus, keep in mind that even though you may not die, you could get very sick.

One point to note however is that eventually most people are going to contract the virus eventually. Governments understand that, these precautions we are seeing are so that it doesn't happen to everyone at more or less the same time.

Everyone has to make their own decision based on what they believe. Some will make good decisions and some will make bad and it is up to the government to make the rules for the benefits of us all. Up until about a week ago I thought the risk was much lower then what I now believe thanks to some excellent information I have found on the internet, the most persuasive is in one of my previous posts in this thread.

The good news is Trump announced earlier today in a press conference with some leaders in the fight against the virus that they have a potential vaccine ready for trials, an amazing achievement due to the cooperation of the vaccine companies and the FDA, a potential self administered test and potential treatments. So far I am impressed with how our governments (Canada and the US) are handling this crisis. I think China set a good example for us to all follow.

Be safe out there and hopefully in a few weeks the worse will be over and we will be back on the road to normal.

I have no doubt that the anti-vaxxers will be out in full force, telling us that the Covid-19 vaccine is bad for us.

It might be a miracle, or it could be a disaster. A vaccine was rushed in the 1980's bird flu crisis, and it caused massive problems in some people, huge lawsuits, the drug companies refused to make more when insurance couldn't be found and the US government had to pay out millions in compensation.

The attempt to innoculate every person in the US was stopped after about a million were vaccinated. The program was dropped, and luckily the flu petered out.

I suspect it must be really hard for the street workers because firstly, they would be the first providers that any sane person would avoid seeing and secondly, because most have a severe drug habit that requires "a business transaction" several times a day to service said drug habit. I'm afraid we may see an increase in B&Es in the near future because of this. One way or another, they need to find the cash. Of course, with eveyone staying home a great deal more, it will likely be empty buinesses that will be the recipients of the B&Es.

It will take at least a year to get a vaccine out if they can develop one at all.

I’ve taken an extended drive through town on my way home from work, almost every day since businesses started shutting down. The DTES core looks like something out of a dystopian movie right now. On a typical day, it would be normal to see people of all demographics coming and going through the East Side. To anyone who doesn’t pass through that area with any frequency, there are hip, trendy and upscale businesses often just around the corner from some of the densest concentrations of the street people. All the hipsters, affluents, hospitality workers, and others are gone now. It’s stark out and eerily quiet out there. Some of the outreach centres even seem closed-can you blame anyone for not wanting to work or volunteer down there during this? I’m thinking any petty crime these folks might commit will be secondary to how much strain they will place on emergency/medical services in the near future.

If you believe anything that either Donald Trump or the government of China says, I believe you've contracted the virus already as you're obviously running a fever.

Even before COVID-19 the fact that anyone would have sex with a drug addict street walker means you're not dealing with sane people. It will be business as usual for them and their clients.
