Steinbach???

Actually, Brandon gets a lot of travelling SP's making their way across Canada. After Regina, each week several SP's stop in Brandon for several days before coming to Winnipeg. They see a lot of regulars, so they must be doing very well there! Then they continue on to either Kenora or Thunder Bay while skipping a viable money making opportunity only 30 min from Winnipeg!

In fact Steinbach has more than doubled in size and population in the past 10 years to be almost the size of Brandon! It has grown big enough that in the past 4 years major business have arrived such as: Walmart, Boston Pizza, Superstore, two Tim Hortons, two Coop Stations, two airports, every major car brand dealership, and it's first high-rise Banking Tower just opened last summer! The locals have no reason to come to Winnipeg anymore, so any town that has a Walmart plus thousands of lonely Farmers who come to Steinbach to shop instead of Winnipeg would definitely support an SP who makes herself available at the new Day's Inn opened about 5 years ago! It's only 10 minutes off the Trans Canada on their way to or from Ontario, and I know I would use their services after a hard days work!

I agree on your comments about Brandon getting a lot of travelling SP's and good ones at that. Many in fact extend their stays. Some times you have to go to Winnipeg to get in to see them as they book up in Brandon.

Voodoo has a little perimeteritis. Just like the governments reasoning for not having a meeting in Brandon, it's 5 hours for them to go to Brandon, only 2 hours for Brandon to go to Winnipeg

You are however a little off on your population statistics.

From the 2011 census;

Brandon population, 46,061, Metro area 53,229, trading area 180,000. Hell, some days you can go down town and only see 27 people you know!
Steinbach population, 13,524. According to the City Of Steinbach their trading area is about 50,000.
