Interesting article I thought I'd share. Good to see a major corporation standing up against the government, now I feel better about constantly getting Java Chip Frappuccinos there!
First of all, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz has done a magnificent job in resurrecting the coffee giant to the pinnacle of the industry upon his return a few years ago. Profitability and shareholder value has turned around and improved vastly. One of the reasons is trimming the fat in terms of expenses. Starbucks like Costco has always been a good supporter of the Democrat Party but NOT as big as Democrat stock BOEING.

I guess Howard Schultz has found a way to skip political contributions and save money especially with the heated 2012 elections right in the corner. Everyone has a smart way of avoiding this political contributions without looking bad to both parties. Some businessmen would run themselves even if they know they won't win just to have an excuse. Its funny though, one wealthy 80-year old lawyer industrialist ran for the US Senate to save donating money and even won.

Good for him, now if he'll follow up by also not making any personal contributions, I think he'll get the message across.
