To be honest I was a huge Star Wars nut, as I grew up with the movies as a kid, and remembered seeing them in the theatres. For the last 10 or so years, it's just seemed more & more silly, and depressing, what with George Lucas doing his damnedest by shitting on whatever legacy he might have had...

That is my sentiment....I remember back in the 90's when the "special editions" were released....I saw Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back but refused to watch ROTJ....down the line thr prequels were produced/released and overall they pretty much sucked...the Phantom Menace was total shite and George Lucas should burn in hell for jarjar.....the 2nd movie was so so as it did have some cool stuff...Revenge Of The Sith was pretty decent but it did have it's shitty moments......after that it is just a money grab by Lucas....the directors cut box set with all 6 movies was released and shortly after that it was announced that all 6 movies would be re-done in 3D(how the fuck can you take a non digital movie made in 1978 and make it into a 3D movie?) and of course they will be released into a 6 movie 3D set and then a year later it will be re-released into a "directors cut" 3D "special edition set"...and all of the suckers will buy it.The only other person/persons that will enjoy this are the executors of Alec Guinnes's estate because when he signed on to the first Star Wars movie his contract stipulated that he/his estate would receive 5% of ALL profits from the franchise.....this includes ALL movies/merchandise/comics/DVD's/records.....EVERYTHING....pretty smart guy I will say.

The first Movie I ever saw in the theatre was Star Wars and it was uber kickass but in the last year I have vowed I will never spend another cent of my hard earned money to George Lucas as he is just milking this franchise to death whilst killing it at the same time.

When Star Wars first came out we had never seen any thing like it .. but now it is vary lame and tame for SF .. I like the second one he more for the dark side .. SW 3 was too cuddly and then the last three should of just been one movie with out all the cuties crap ... The kid , jar jar barf and then honestly Hayden could not act.. The final laugh i got was the Frankenstein resurrection of Darth Vader , That was really bad ...

Considering that we now find out that so much SF movies get there inspiration from E.G. Burreuls SF books , like Carter of Mars .. Good SF has Good nakedness and sex... because after all we are still human

LOL!!!!!! I have the audio for this burned on a mixed CD I made about 10 years ago. I had actually never seen the video until now :p

I still like Star Wars the same. Yes, they are trying to franchise everything that can be franchised, but even some of the newer Star Wars like the animated Clone Wars series and even Lego Star Wars is good for a laugh. The reason they are able to it successfully is because they are still putting out a quality product.

I like Empire and Revenge of the Sith the best (even despite the blunderous NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!), because the stories were a little bit darker. The cutsey ones like Jedi and Phantom Menace had cools parts but were only mildly entertaining.

There are a plethora of things that make me happy but I wont go into detail.

What more can I say as a fan of Star Wars....I am disgruntled by the direction the franchise has been steered towards...it is no longer about a ground breaking movie that launched the entire genre of science fiction into a whole new direction....look at many of the films that followed Star Wars as well as Television series like the original Battlestar Gallactica....I knew where my ass was parked on a Sunday evening as a kid.

My point is that Lucas is pretty much just milking the franchise to death for more money and at the same time he is shitting on his own creation for the sake of making money...pretty fucking stupid considering he is allready disgustingly rich.

As an unhappy consumer of what he is doing I am voting with my wallet and I will no longer give him my hard earned money for the crapulence he recycles over and over again and with each instance he just makes it worse......kind of like having a glass of Crown Royal watered down to the point that is has the color of dishwater.

Up your V
Some of you guys are hardcore geek central here.

Star Wars is way better than any of the old Star Trek movies, one Star Wars movie makes more $ than all of the 9? Star Trek movies combine. Not including the JJAbrams remake a few years ago. The Star Wars theme music is renowned to all movie lovers and symphony orchestras around the world. The most money making movie series of all time,until...broken only by Lord of the Rings and the Harry Potter series. The most anticipated sequel/prequel in the new trilogy Episode 1 made people camp outside the cinema for weeks, just to be the first in line.
I don't have the Blu-Ray's versions or even seen the 3-D versions on screen. Seen it over 30x Episode 4 that's fine with me.
Lucas wants to milk his franchise his Star Wars products sells over 2-4$Billion sales a year. If he pisses fans well he swimming in the money.
Lightsaber duels are the shite, itsall life lesson -religion,respect your elders,do your homework, fight oppression, avoid temptation and strive to your destiny.
The greatest screen villan of all time is Darth Vader.
If there is going to be a another trilogy after Episode 6 than it needs to continue with Luke Skywalker joining the Dark Side. But everyone knows Mark Hammil won't get a acting a job on camera.

Hell yeah the first 3 Star Wars movies from the late 70's and early 80's were awesome. I don't even think I saw the last ones ones because I heard they sucked even though Master Yoda was in them.
If you count some really shitty CGI as "Master Yoda", then sure, he was there....

I think Maddox put it best when referring to Episode III:

"Even after pointing out these serious problems with the plot, Star Wars nerds will still try to get you to admit one thing: "you have to admit that the special effects were good, right?"

NEWS FLASH: Episode III had no special effects.

They're not "special effects" anymore when they're found in EVERY SCENE. Lucas has done the seemingly impossible: he has made something that was once so unique that people called it "special" by name, and turned it into something so ordinary that nobody raises an eyebrow during a scene where a guy is having a sword fight on the back of a giant beast. By the way, I have to admit that the creature design was very creative in this episode; modeled after frilled lizards and ticks, Lucas tapped the well of innovation dry on this one. Congratulations Lucas, we don't care about "special" effects anymore."

I remember seeing everyone of them many many times at the theatre.

My favorites were V the Empire Strikes back: from the battle on hoth, to Luke face to face battle with Vader, finding out he was Vader's son, lando's betrayl and realization of his mistake, han solo's capture, Yoda's training,. Boba Fett's major role The darkest days of the rebel alliance. The last scene of luke and leia looking out across the galaxy not knowing what their future's held. Very powerful.

I actually liked the phantom menace episode#1 only because of Ray Park, Ewan MCGregor and Liam Neeson. Jedi's and Sith became bad asses. They weren't stoggy old men in a fencing match like obiwan and Vader at the Death star in Star wars. No it was a pure on martial art with full movement. Only unfortunate aspect was Jar Jar binks the gungan outcast who became a senator. Meesa no be thinking so Anni!
I remember my dad taking me to see star wars in the theatre, it was the first time I was at a theatre. I was 4 years old, and still remember parts of it from the original time I saw it.

But as a 6 year old watching the snow walker attack on the Hoth base.
