Star Wars: which version do you prefer?

A few years ago, I gave my copy of the Star Wars VHS box set to one of my younger relations (was 6 years old at the time). Now with the DVD coming out on Tuesday with several changes that are pissing off die-hard Star Wars geeks, I am contemplating stealing that box set back. Cos I think the demand for it is gonna skyrocket since they are the original theatrical release.

Anyway, the poll question is which would you prefer: the VHS box set with the original theatrical version, or the new DVD set with the changes but sexed-up sound and effects?

You're lacking of one very important option : the ORIGINAL trilogy on DVD transfered from the Laserdiscs sources. I'd love to have those.

If only they'd make the theatrical version on DVD, or at the very least the THX edition (that's the one before they added deleted scenes or made Greedo shoot first, but had some glitches fixed like the speeders with no shadows ).

OMFG!!! You all don't wanna know how much I paid for the Star Wars Trilogy on Laser Disc back in the day. Somewhere in the $300 bracket. I think?!?!?!

I definately know My Fair Lady was a 300 bucker.

Laser Discs rocked because it really looked like they went all out on the things. Not to mention just like when LP's were over taken by CD's one of the major complaints was the now much smaller cover to display the art work on.

I'm such a nerd. I paid over $50 for the DVD box set on Tuesday when it first came on sale, and I've been spending most of my evenings watching the 3 movies and the bonus material.

I read on the news that it rang up over $100 mill in sales in the USA on just the Tuesday alone.
