Patrick Roy pulling the goalie with 3mins to go… pure GUTS!

having seen the speed in these playoffs, I highly doubt the Canucks
could have won a game vs any of the Western teams.

so enjoyable to watch high scoring games and the hitting in the Sharks/Kings series was out of this world.

enjoy the playoffs, boys!

Lots of great action so far. I wish they would get rid of 4 on 4 overtime/shootout in the regular season. Just play till someone wins like in the playoffs.
Even if they had to reduce the number of game and eliminate back to backs. A double or triple OT game is just so cool.
Bring out the bananas and pizza crusts.

They claim they can't do OT in the regular season because of travel commitments, but that's probably just the excuse they've decided sounds the best.

They wouldn't have so many OT games if Bettman didn't think the "everyone is competitive" approach was the way to try to keep interest up in weak markets.

If they awarded 3 points for outright wins, 2 for OT and 0 for losses the games would be better and the OT's would be exciting because they'd actually mean something. I agree, the S/O was maybe exciting the first season. Now it's a boring, stupid skills gimmick.

I am late so won't list who I think will win each round or in how many games. Instead I will simply say HABS in 25 games will lift Le Coupe De Stan again.

Blue tie it with 6 seconds to go!!

I think if they must stick with a 5 minute OT then shootout. 3 for a win in regulation, 2 for an OT win, 1 for a shootout win. Loser gets 0 points.
If a game is tied in the third, you know they are playing for the single point, and then take their chances for the extra point. Its a logical way to get the most points over a year.
Especially with inter conference games, its like they have a gentlemans agreement to not try. In the end, the top 16 teams will still make the playoffs.
