Bruins will try to grind down Chicago much like they did to the Pens. It'll work on home ice but the Hawks have game 7 in their barn. Chicago withstood the physicality of the Kings, and they have more depth then most any other team
I say it becomes a home ice series - Chicago wins in 7

SEVENTEEN straight penalty kills for Boston as of half way thru game one of the final.

Chicago 1 for 21 on the PP.

Still think the refs are the ones deciding games?

One of the best game 1s I have ever seen for sure.
Heartbreaker for Boston.

i was pleasantly surprised at how well chicago controlled the pace of the game

i don't know whether it was puck control in the centre ice area, more accurate passing, better players, bigger guys not getting pushed around as much (as a matter of fact i thought i saw more boston players getting mugged than chicago players), or boston just tired after the brutal pittsburg series... but boston definitely wasn't moving at the speed of the last series

so now that chicago has shattered my prediction of a boston sweep - this is looking exactly like what a stanley cup final SHOULD look like! action, speed, big hits, rivalries, stellar goaltending... man, the stuff legends are built from

i have to say that putting bickell in charge of keeping chara flat on his ass on the ice has made a HUGE difference in letting toews and kane play their game

No and because of that, the deeper, more talented, faster and better team (Chicago) won. It was a great final, I give kudos to Boston. In the final analysis, Chicago was able to roll their lines and defense parings more evenly than Boston. The goaltenders were a wash. Boston won the physical (hitting) battles but lost the war. Chicago had more game breakers than Boston. In the dying moment of last night's game, with Chicago down by one, Kane skated pass the entire Boston team and started the play that led to the tying goal. When Boston found themselves down by one later, all they could muster was a weak dump and chase. The Chicago win is significant because they showed the rest of the league that you can still win the cup with finesse and a healthy dose of determination.

Papillion: what's the final tally?

Thing is Chicago as I said earlier had the more balanced team they showed that through the regular season and through the playoffs. When Toews, Kane, Sharp and Hossa weren't firing on all cylinders, Bickell, Saad,Kruger, Bolland picked up the slack

Glad to see them win it on Boston's home ice though. Also nice to see Chara get burned twice again.. too bad he wasn't on the ice for the Cup winning goal too. First time since 1979 two original 6 teams meet.. Chicago wins. Woot!
You also said the Leafs and Islanders would be easily swept in the first round as well. The only team swept were your precious Can(s)ucks. Along with the Pens later on. Boston will be back.

I think I heard one of the commentators say the Hawks are 29th in physical size?i.e.2nd smallest?

shows that skill trumps size...if I heard it right.
