SP's that ski or snowboard?

That's one of my goals, to learn! Just gotta get up to the mountain before the winter ends, lol. Although I'll be more of a bruised snowbunny after a day of trying to learn 
Spent a weekend snowboarding with her. She's not bad, still learning though. But she was an athlete and it shows in her coordination. Unlike most people I've snowboarded with who're learning she doesn't get deterred by falling (even watched her smoke her head good enough I was worried about a mob of angry pooners coming after me for giving her a concussion!). Yea picks up on it well, willing to risk falling to get better (when I say beginner it's turning of a beginner, somehow she still hits intermediate speed); after two days there was a marked improvement - which considering schedule she doesn't get to go alot. Just pick blue runs with space and sit on her right on the chairlift so she can grab hold of you getting off (srsly who doesn't want VJ grabbing ahold of their hips). She can't do 8am to 4pm riding, but really I can't anymore either. And she should get some bigger boots.
She also mentioned Chrystal snowboards (and snow blades *gag*).
If you want someone that's been riding for a long time (expert) I can wear a wig + some makeup for 500....

I hate the snow... i really do ..my birthday is in january and it always snows.. huge mood buster... i love looking at it.. but its so cold... i have never gone skiiing or snowboarding... i kind of have a fear that . gravity will cease to exisit and i will just float away off the mountain.. never to be seen again

Well VJ has special for it, most of my old friends from Banff are gone, the few that are still there have been hitting the party favors just as hard as when we got there (kinda not all there anymore), 6 years away from serious riding I can't do all the things I used to (drop cliffs/chutes or ride the pro style park - alone I still would have tried and most likely gotten hurt or really frustrated as I'm competitive with myself about that kind of stuff), and of the guys I work with none snowboarded at my ability.
She's treated me very well before that, I figured it was a nice thank you (and a pretty sweet Xmas gift for myself if I may say so), and I've got 20 years on a snowboard (the first ten years going 3-5 days a week, and 5 more years in Banff doing 100 plus days) figured I could help her out maybe, give a little back you know? From my pov it was a great weekend, she's wonderful company. Besides if I hadn't of brought her along the cost of her lift ticket and food would have easily been spent on liquor and god knows what else. I'd do it again if she keeps the special (hint hint ladies if you really like certain activities make specials for them). I also like good snowboarding better than good sex, so being able to have some good days on the hill with someone else genuinely enjoying themselves and some great sex is worth it to me. Wouldn't do it on a regular 2 day rate though (I'd feel the need to just play as much as possible for it to feel worth it, and wouldn't get much riding in which would be frustrating).

What snowboarding or your instructor ;PI took my first snowboarding lesson in January, it was fun! I managed to flip over 3 times though haha. Oh and my instructor flirted so hard, brushing my hair out of my face and stuff. I want to try it again
I love snowboarding...I actually went snowboarding and went to the beach in the same day!

Don't go to Whistler as a beginner. Total waste of time and money. It is far, the mountain close too early and hell expensive.I bought a snowboard last winter but haven't had the time to go up and learn.. Can anyone tell me which mountain is best for beginners? I don't want to go to whistler just to sit in the snow cos I can't stay on my feet..
I learned snowboarding at Cypress many years ago. Any of the local hills are good. My friend learn his from Grouse. Snowboarding is not hard, doesn't have a steep learning curve at the beginning. I was able to go down the blue runs on the 2nd lesson but took me till the next season to go down the blacks. Anyways, it is no fun to go down mogul black, narrow winding black is more fun. I am sure you will learn it quickly to enjoy.
Ladies that are learning... right now is the PERFECT time to go because the mountains are about to shut due to lack of people going. So not only will u not have to worry about traffic or someone crashing into you, but you wont have to wait in line. I advise going on weekdays still however. I also advise buying a pair of padded shorts so when you get tired or crash and wind up sitting on the snow your ass wont get numb! Seymour is ideal for beginers. Altho all three local mountains have learning areas.
