I read where Commish Goodell is considering abolishing the PAT as it is all but automatic.

I welcome this,I've said for years, why not make the PAT compulsory to run/pass?
maybe 1 point for scrimmaging on the 2 yard line or 2 pts for scrimmaging on the 5 yard line?
in any case, make it a meaningful play.

also,Seahawks-Broncos features the #1 seeds from both AFC&NFC, and when was the last time that happened?

I was one who disagreed with a cold-weather super bowl,but, really,NFC&AFC title games approx Jan.20 in places
like Boston,Pittsburgh,Green Bay&New York and others are probably facing worse conditions than NY in early Feb.
will still be a great game.

note to Badger....when PJ comes on why not press Mute&avoid getting worked up?
I don't use audio while watching games,don't need someone telling me what I'm watching.
loved a cbc strike few yrs ago,could watch games in peace hearing only crowd sounds.

I think keep the extra point but make it a 45-50 yard attempt. What they are talking about now, 7 for free, 8 if you go for a convert.
They will all just take the 7, unless its late in the game and they need the 8

I agree, the PAT should be from the 40 or 45 yard line, and the ball placement should occur inline where the TD was scored relative to the goal-line [like Rugby]

I think anything other than the current setup is an improvement,as it makes the PAT(s) a factor,not an automatic score.
