I have a friend who lives in Yaletown and has seen several spirits since she moved in to her place about 6 years ago. A few of her guests and the onsite office/building manager have also seen them. One time she was in bed and heard knocking on the back door, she's at ground level, and as she was getting up to see what was going on, the knock immediately moved to her front door. When she peered through the peep hole she saw a small figure in colour but somewhat transparent, and apparently a female, dancing in the hallway with her back to the door. The building manager saw the same figure in the hallway another time. Also, one time a guest at her place was using the washroom and turned around to see another female figure sitting on the edge of her shower stall. A few weeks ago she had a native shaman in to see what was going on and the shaman had a vision of a redheaded male in a plaid shirt and when they performed a ceremony asking the spirit to leave, the back door opened slowly, stopped, and continued opening again. Nobody was even near the door.
Anyway, these are just a few instances and I can't go into any further detail but I must say I'm extremely disappointed that with all the times I've been over there, which is more than anybody else, I've yet to witness anything. I've had several similar experiences elsewhere over time and would love to know the story behind these spirits.
So does anybody know anything about the long history of the Yaletown area, in particular around Marinaside, or how to find it? Anybody in that area ever have similar experiences?
