Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
Let me begin by saying that I don't want or intend this thread to turn into a rate debate. It's more about an observation I've made that as a small business owner has me confused.

I haven't been doing alot of pooning lately due to an ongoing battle with CRA over a tax assessment. When I do, I usually see my 2 or 3 regulars who offer fantastic GFE service. That said, like alot of guys, I'm often searching for "the next one" and thus peruse the ads and make the occasional exploratory phone call.
Lately there have been a few ladies I've been tempted to see but not bad enough to TOFTT, advertising "Special Rates". I thought that this might be a good way to have an introductory visit. In both cases when I inquired with them, I discovered that the "special" wasn't really a "special". Sure they had reduced their rate by $50 - $100 but they had also reduced their service. In the end the special rate was not for their regular GFE services but for basic SOG and you're done.
This would be like me offerring my customers a discount but then showing up and using substandard materials or not finishing the job.
IT'S NOT A SPECIAL IF ALL YOUR DOING IS DROPPING YOUR FEE BUT ALSO DROPPING YOUR LEVEL OF SERVICE!

Anyway I was wonderring, am I way off base on this one or do you agree?

It sounds like the "special rate" is specific to a session not normally offered, not really reducing service. Like if she normally does not do anything less than an hour, but is offering a rate for a half hour as a special. I would think that any special rate is going to have some kind of condition on it, and since it is only a temporary option, is really to be used as an introduction if you would not normally want to meet someone new at their regular rate? I think if someone is running a special, they can put whatever conditions they want on it, and you are free to take advantage of the opportunity or not, as long as you know going in it is conditional?

I guess it depends on how the ad was written. If it's designed to mislead you into thinking that the regular GFE service is being discounted, when it's not the case then you are bang on. However, if it just say Specials then you are off base. Consider that if the GFE is the SP's normal level of service, but she gets clients that don't need/want that level. If enough of them ask here for a reduced level of service at a reduced rate, she might decide to make that a special. As an example, some of the ladies provide Greek as part of their service, some offer it at an extra charge. Consider that maybe some clients are asking those that do offer it if they will reduce the rate if they do not avail themselves of that service.

Haaahaaa!
this is like that commercial where a hot dog vendor is selling hotdogs for 1 $ and for 1$ all you get is the wienner with no buns,napkins,ketchup...etc.

what do you expect from the high end ladies? the fact they are dropping their rates is already something they do not want to do. there is no free lunch!!

What do you care? There's probably a tax write off in there somewhere anyway.
Remember the OP is already in "discussions" with the CRA.... I wonder why .. LOL
I am not a tax specialist, but I don't think they will consider that recent trip to Greece as a business trip :)
How about.....DUCTCLEANING... yes this could work
