So this afternoon I was walking out of the downtown library and crossing the intersections to get to City Centre, and there's this woman who is panhandling on the corner. Blonde, slim, short, probably in her early 30s, might have been attractive if not for the rough life. I've seen her several times this summer, she wanders all of downtown and Oliver and asks for change. And the way she's dressed sometimes, I've wondered if she works the strolls at night.

Anyway, she goes up to this one youngish and clean-cut guy to ask for change, he says no, but before she could walk away he starts conversing with her. I'm standing there and waiting for the traffic light to change to 'walk' and I could overhear her telling this guy to meet her at the Grand Hotel. This is the fleabag hovel across from the Greyhound bus terminal where the old Cecil Hotel crowd has apparently migrated to.

Not sure how much she charges (assuming that's the reason they're meeting), but I have the feeling one can get much better at a MP! Right? :)

And do the rest of you guys know who I'm talking about?

I think I know the one...
I work downtown, and I got hit on by a "lady" of similar description outside of Edmonton Center.
Suffice it to say I took a pass, but gave her a Loon. Not too bad from a half block away, but up close was a lesson in hard living...

I know exactly who you are talking about. She always hangs out around Edmonton Centre. Try my best to stay far clear of her.

I know who you are talking about as well. She tried to hit me up around 97th Street and 102nd Ave while I was walking to the Edmonton Streetperformers Festival. Looked like she hadn't slept for a week.
