Street walkers flirt with this danger every day. What woman (or person for that matter) would get in to a stranger's car for $40.

SW's need to get off the street and if they still want to be in the trade, work inside (if they're presentable and clean - that includes drugs and alcohol - they'll have no problem finding a spot at an MP).

Marshall, blaming the victim is totally inappropriate. Regardless of their lifestyle, all human beings have the fundamental right to life, safety and security, don't they?

Just because some people choose to (or are forced to?) place themselves in potentially dangerous situations, it doesn't mean that they should be brutally murdered and put out with the garbage! :(

Unfortunatly the general public will have the same view , almost as if "she deserved it". What woman would let a strange man into her apt. for 160 or go to a strange mans motel room for whatever the sum of money! The incident that happened to a "incall" girl at her place over a year ago is testimony to the fact that there are some sick ppl out there, and regardless of price , they are all at risk.
Some sick pooner (possibly) killed this lady for whatever reason.
I believe that these ladies deserve more respect than what they get. As in any business you get ppl who are at different levels and conduct themselves in inappropriate behavior. I too am responsible for my judgemental thinking , because when I heard the news , I immediatly assumed it was a SW from the low track. The lady who got assaulted last year in her apt was NOT a sw or from the lowtrack!
I know too many sp's and like too many of them to take a murder of a sp lightly as they could be someone i know!
Just my 2c worth.

Edmonton killer!

Have you checked the Edmonton news lately? This is nothing compared to what they are going through. They have a serial killer going after the street girls...
They just found another girl in a farmers field 2 days ago.

It's all tragic!

They get into the car......because they are deseprate!!!!!!! To get the cash to drink and fix or whatever. Maybe to eat something. You know....the things you or I take for granted

Don't judge.

These women are at a very low point, otherwise they would not be on the street.

My very best friend was murdered in 1994, much the same way.....and she was intelligent and very beautiful.....but she had a huge drug problem, which led her to the street, and the rest is history.

Keep in mind......these are people that once had it together, and then things just unravelled.

I really feel for her family.

Good point Paris. My question is how do we know it was a John, maybe she owed a dealer for drugs, or another Sp cash. Or maybe she stood on the wrong corner? I think there are to many maybe's right now.

Mine was simply an opinion - or better a preventative solution to SW attacks.

Don't jump on me Avery - like I don't care about human life - THAT'S UNFAIR to me and could not be further from the truth!

I'm not blaming her for what happend ... re-read my post!

OK, Marshall, but your original post struck me as having a preachy tone. Thanks for setting it straight.

Today's newspaper suggested that the lady may have spent time at her fav. hobby in a crack house leading up to her death and that her death may have had more to do with money owed than a bad date.

Please forgive my ignorance, what happened "last time"??
I think Paris is referring to the picton case in B.C. where girls disappeared off the street for years and the police were totally ineffectual at solving the case.

I'm not so sure it was so much ineffectual as not giving a shit.
You're right ... I was giving them too much credit ... ascribing incompetence as opposed to bad faith!!!

It was only when the public outrage over the mounting disappearances increase due to all the publicity that the families of the missing women were able to create that the cops began to actually try to solve it. Till then it was just whores disappearing and they didn't care a rat's ass.

About the Picton case, lots of people in the area knew that shit was going down at the farm. We heard all sorts of stories, like that they were making snuff flicks, and that the HA were running the show there, nobody was ever totally sure about stuff. But all those rumours had to start somewhere, I heard all these things at like 10 years old living a few blocks from there, so, I don't know what took them 20 years to get to the point of having enough evidence. But, if people didn't talk so much, the case probably would still be un-solved.

Totally fucked up priorities ... eager to bust girls and johns, but not to solve murders of the girls.

Not solving the murders and busting hookers both served the same objective: getting the girls off the streets
