Something stinks in Whalley

So in order to rid beatuiful Whalley of loitering junkies and undesirables, someone is spreading chicken manure through the alleys and along the sides of buildings where the junkies huddle up and do their thing.

Homeless advocates are "outraged" of course. They are accusing the police of being behind this most despicable act.

Just another day in paradise.

Hating on Whalley

Do people really think that Whalley is worse than say .... Hastings Street ? I mean seriously ... it's a smaller area ... in my most humble, honest opion .. and I have lived in Vancouver and Surrey ... I think the downtown eastside is in worse shape. Why do people always hate on Whalley ? Poverty and the scourage of drug addiction know no boundaries.

Unless they are mentally ill(riverview closing doesnt help), their whole family died, or something massive happened, most of the homeless everywhere dont really have a good excuse to be homeless. Their lack of 'git r done' attitude is probabl what got them in the problem in the first place. Lack of care, lack of a lot of things, but im sure most of them had many chances they turned down.

I agree with your statement but that in itself is a problem. People don't have coping skills so they self medicate and become addicts. There are some seriously weak people out there. I feel sorry for all the people suffering but yes, the choice is ultimately theirs to change their life. I just want to know why everyone makes out like Surrey has got more problems than anywhere else ? I don't beleive it does.
