A woman who was injured in a triple-stabbing in an apartment in East Vancouver earlier this month has succumbed to her injuries, according to authorities.
Jinfeng Guan, one of three women stabbed and initially the lone survivor, died Thursday in hospital, the Vancouver Police Department said in a statement Monday.
Officers found 50-year-old Guan with life-threatening injuries when they were called to an apartment near Vanness Avenue and Spencer Street the afternoon of Sept. 5.
Fifty-five year-old Jianghui Deng and 54-year-old Chunxiu Yin were found dead shortly after, at a building a few blocks away at Vanness Avenue and Joyce Street.
Viet Quy John Ly, 54, has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder and one count of aggravated assault.
“Vancouver police have notified Crown counsel of Guan’s death and are in the process of submitting evidence for consideration of additional charges,” the statement said.
The VPD has not yet provided any information regarding what relationship – if any – the suspect had with the three women.
