Shit happens, and even though it's a pain in the ass....somethings are kind of funny.

Friday morning I get a call from my mechanic.....come on down we have a problem with your bus. It's a 32ft vehicle on an F-550 chassis...so not a small vehicle. I head down thinking about how this could get expensive..

I get there and there she be...up on blocks. Overnight some son-of-a-bitch had gone on the lot, jacked up the front end and stole the wheels. Stole the inserts out of the dually's on the rear, the hubcaps are gone. On the second bus he only took the hubcaps and inserts.

This fucker worked on these vehicles for nearly three hours, right underneath a motion detection activated camera, that is live monitored. I'd say that takes balls, also takes a guy that's awake to monitor the cameras. Like I said shit happens and I was going to get new tires for the winter anyway...

But now you'll need new rims too.....Sorry Man.
You probably hate getting ripped off as much as I do, and the fact that the paid employee manning the camera wasn't concious, doesn't ease any pain.
You may wanna monitor Craiglist and Kijiji..And if you find them, don't go pick them up alone.
I don't need to bail you out of jail.

It is amazing what criminals get away with because even when people see them doing something, they think no one can be that ballsy.

I had a friend here in Winnipeg who had his house cleaned out.
He's away. 2 guys in a big white truck show up and start clearing out his house.
Comes back 2 seeks later to a nearly empty house.
When the cops interview the neighbors, many of them saw it but assumed he was moving or something.
Never thought much of it otherwise, given it was the middle of the day.

I had 4 guys here a few years back loading up my cattle into a truck....They where using a tailgate ramp, and not a chute, so it wasn't going smoothly. This was out on my range, and I guess they figured they could take what they wanted, and just drive away.
When I asked them what they where doing they said "Loading our calves, what business is it of yours?"
It's amazing how polite someone gets, when a lever action comes into the conversation.

Paying your deductible but the claim is on your policy? Doesn't that effect your insurance?

Once your vehicle is in their compound it should be on the mechanic's and security company's policies IMHO.

Doesn't affect my insurance as it's not my fault. What probably will happen is that ICBC with go after the Shop Insurance and they will go after whatever insurance is carried by the security company.

That makes sense.
