SNL at its best ... or worst.

For me, SNL ended when the 90s did.... it's hard to get into it now because I don't see the talent they once had. Sometimes there would be 'gem' moments like Ryan Goslings Alien Abduction skit where it was more funny seeing him breakdown in laughter than doing the actual skit, but my heart will always be placed in "a van down by the river".

Like most things in life the beginning of a run is usually the best as the talent is raw and coming into their own. As the original cast went indie of the show it was definitely harder to fill the slots of that that gang. There were a couple of players who came in who breathed some fresh comedic air into the show. However, it seemed like the writers got stale and the show became a place where some people used the show as a kick-off for their personal careers and worked on individualism rather than teamwork which the original group seemed to have.

I never saw the original but this popped up on my YouTube feed today. Half hilarity at what he's saying and half nervous laughter at what he's saying!
