Information, or rather help, please:)

I took mine down and unplugged the battery.

But, it won't stop chirping now. I did press the test button, but have unplugged the battery since. I also pressed the 'hush' button. It's chirping at 45 sec intervals.

I'm going to take it down again, but when it also contains a Radiation warning. Yikes!

Thank-you....much appreciated knowledge, PG.

I will definitely install a new battery. The present battery has been ultra-sensitive. Maybe that is a condition of a disarming battery. (sometimes logic slaps us in the face.)

AKA: Maybe I should just change the battery? I claim Blonde-syndrome. Or, fear of radiation-syndrome..

The radiation warning is just to ensure you don't dismantle it or dispose of it improperly. The ionization detector uses a very small amount of a radioactive isotope in a sealed component to detect "smoke".

In regards to the chirping: Di9d you install a fresh alkaline battery or did you just put the old one (or a rechargeable) in? The battery may not be providing the full voltage. Most detectors use the regular chirp as a warning the the battery is low & to replace it. Rechargeables are not recommended because they often have a lower voltage and shorter charge life than alkaline batteries. Try a fresh, new battery to be sure.

I just watched the movie, Social Networking, or whatevever.

Metallica was the band that challenged free aquisition of their hard-learned and hard-earned talent, timing, following, and consistency. AKA: Napster NON-agreement. This was my era. Everyone differs, but chances are, I love your era too.

Thank-you....much appreciated knowledge, PG.
