slightly odd and a tad bit fishy

so on my moring walk.. and I crossed a very busy route in vancouver.. I nearly got run over when I came to a sudden halt in the middle of the street... I couldn't help myself as I was very puzzled.... A FISH !!!! and not a smooshed fish or a dead fish.. a right from the water wet live fish.. flopping around on the road !!! it was a fairly large one too.. so Im wondering if anyone has any ideas as to where this random fish may have come from

The only thing I could think of was that a truck must be open a bit in the back..and a tank of some sort must have fallen over.., and its dropping fish on the roads.. and if thats the case.. careful on the roads today,.. as if this person is unaware of the problem.. someone just might get one heaping pile on their car hood !!!

I've been behind dump trucks running north up Knight/Clark that are full of fish bound for a rendering plant, though I doubt they are still alive at that point.

Sounds more like what Pimmel said, some eagle probably dropped it.

You are right Pimmel, I have seen live fish dropped on land and especially starfish, right in downtown Vancouver, by seagulls and others.
