Anyone getting this card....Im not interested in the ladies fight, its so overhyped, calling it the greatest rivalry in sports..wtf.

I am shocked Anderson isn't a bigger favourite. I have him at -151.
It seems like easy money. Anderson was way faster in the standup before he got silly.
Going to bet on Barnett too, after what he did to Mir.

Supposedly Dana will make an announcement , speculation is a Lesnar return

ya he's done and we'll never know if weidman could actually legitimately beat him. ufc is in alot of trouble. all their marketable fighters are gone within a month. cain, gsp, anderson all gone. apparently brock was at the event. if dana was smart he'd throw a shitload of money at him for another fight or two. jose aldo and dominick cruz are going to draw flies.

The kiddies on an mma forum think he will be fighting within a year. Id be surprised if he is walking by then, probably a bad limp for life. Dana just said he is in surgery right now. Weidman is in the press conference right now, he is more less saying he was working on that technique

Wow. That was not the finish that I was expecting (Silva vs Weidman).

The replays on that (in HD) were very uncomfortable to watch.

At 38 years old, I wonder...is that is the last we have seen of Anderson Silva?

I'm still trying to figure out what was more uncomfortable to watch ..... the fear and sadness on his face prior to the fight .... the beating he was taking in round 1 ....... or the end. None of it was very pleasant to see.

It is/was very surreal to see a fighter that many considered to be the "greatest of all time" to have a fight end like that.

2 months ago, who would have predicted that GSP and Anderson Silva would be at this point in their careers?

technique??? checking a kick is not hard to learn. he got lucky with perfect timing. kind of bugs me that he was celebrating like it was some great win. remember chael sonnen was beating the crap out of silva for 4 rounds in their first fight so no one can assume that just because weidman had won the first round convincingly that he was automatic to win the fight. and historically silva always started his fights slow. anyways they mentioned it took that other guy who had the same thing happen at the fight for the troops show 2 years to recover. and that guy was young. i think also more the mental aspect will cause silva so say that's it. a big part of his game is kicks and now he will have that mental hesitation to throw kicks, and who could blame him.

Silva is done...at his age you don't come back to fight for the belt after a brutal leg break!

quick turn around for rousey fighting again in 7 weeks. something tells me there's a little something extra for her under the table to fight again this quick. ufc has all these ppvs to fill and most of their drawing fighters are out long term. looks like rousey and jones will be holding the fort for 2014.

In Your Wildest Dreams!
I can deal with blood, guts, brain matter, you name it. But orthopedic injuries just make my skin crawl. Poor guy. The pain must have been excruciating. Hopefully he went into shock slightly. It is a career ender for sure. I once broke my humerus horseback riding and passed out not from the pain, but the unnatural way my arm was dangling....... UGH!
It doesn't seem that he did go into shock Lavinia: in this 'bloodlust' state of theirs, can you imagine the effect on the adrenal system? Guys like this don't go into shock because their brain simply doesn't let that happen. It keeps flooding their endocrine systems to ensure they stay in their fight until one or the other or both opponents are dead. It's MY belief that the 'Warrior' gene is what drives a lot of genuine Alpha males towards MMA fighting; it's gladiators fighting hand to hand, no holds barred, tap out or die, right? Guys who believe pain makes them stronger because it DOES...it drives those fast twitch muscles, like those thighs where they store all that testosterone they're producing, naturally. Silva went down screaming in agony from an injury that would be unfixable without immediate medical intervention. To quote the sad old story, 'had he been a horse, they'd have shot him'. He probably felt everything and kept screaming all the way to the ambulance at the very least! Poor guy! The orthopedic rehab will be brutal.

Anderson Silva Injury Update

" Zuffa, LLC, owner of the Ultimate Fighting Championship®, released the following statement regarding Anderson Silva's injury.

"Following Saturday evening's UFC 168 main event, former champion Anderson Silva was taken to a local Las Vegas hospital where he underwent surgery to repair a broken left leg. The successful surgery, performed by Dr. Steven Sanders, the UFC's orthopedic surgeon, inserted an intramedullary rod into Anderson's left tibia. The broken fibula was stabilized and does not require a separate surgery. Anderson will remain in the hospital for a short while, but no additional surgery is scheduled at this time. Recovery time for such injuries may vary between three and six months.

"Anderson is deeply touched by the outpouring of support from his fans and the entire MMA community. There has been no immediate decision about his future, and he would kindly ask for privacy at this time as he deals with his injury and prepares to return home to recover." "
