Avatars are a feature that was discontinued sometime back, and is no longer available, except...
for paid advertizers and members who kept theirs (like me).
However, if I try to change mine, I too will lose that feature.
BTW, this question comes up repeatedly. Try to familiarize yourself with the "Search" feature as well.
