Should you tell your real name to SPs?

I used to tell them my real name until one girl added me on facebook after the session. 99.9% dont use their real name so we shouldn't be telling them our real names either.

I would never think it was your real name even if it was. No sane, respectable lady would do anything with that information. But I think it is expected for everyone to use aliases.

edit: I have always said and will stand by this, facebook is evil.

Personally, it doesn't matter to me if I know my visitor's real name or not, I will always respect him and use the name that he's given me. But sometimes a visitor will say, Oh btw, my name isn't Herman it's Ralph and I trust that they feel more comfortable with me knowing their real name, for some reason. I would NEVER abuse that trust, that's for sure. I have been given full names, work phone numbers, full company names...what am I gonna do? Call the receptionist and blow his cover?

One time, a visitor accidentally put his work cell phone on call-forwarding to my number. His office (in another province) kept calling me, by accident. It was a little embarrassing but I completely covered his ass (I contacted him by e-mail immediately), because I wanted him to return, which he has, numerous times!

I think that, if you're being selective, and using quality service providers, you should know whether or not your secret is safe with them, Reginald!

And, in response to haymitch, I'm so sorry that your experience has taught you to be so protective, but I totally get it. I get asked my real name a lot and I don't understand the need for that info. My real name is Alex, btw! :eyebrows:

Bad idea. There are FAR too many ladies who start off nice, pleasant, even friendly and then can turn into vicious, nasty and quite evil and vindictive folks when things go south. For some reason in this hobby/business, things tend to go south all too often. Ladies who were former duo partners become bitter enemies, former ATF clients end up on blacklists, all kinds of weird shit happens, all the time. Guard your personal info carefully and be very, very circumspect about who you let into your real life. You don't even need to have met them, just having a run in with someone on the board can create a mortal enemy. Post a bad review of the wrong woman who knows your name and phone number, or worse where you live or work, and you are asking for a world of hurt.

It goes both ways, the ladies should guard their personal carefully too. There are too many stories on this very board of extortion, outings, meltdowns, threats of and actual physical violence - including death at the hands of clients they met in the hobby/business. With google, you would be surprised what you can find out with just a phone number and a name.

Post a positive review about an SP who is having a battle with another SP and you too can feel the wrath from the competitor and her White Knights. You can see these people active in review threads saying nasty shit about some SP's who are having little wars with former duo partners or former friends. Purely playground bullshit.

If you change up your ATF and she takes offence there can be negative effects. You can go from being a "total sweetheart" to "total asshole" in a microsecond.

I was going to go to a Christmas Meet and Greet and was going to take my ATF with me and she originally agreed to go. Later we talked about it and she didn't want to go because there was another SP she was having issues with and she reminded me that I had an outburst with another pooner here. She said don't think for a minute that these people won't do something to get back at you.

Seriously, read the Jessica P Rabbit thread about a spouse who called her and she admitted everything to the spouse. Totally outed the pooner. It is a wake up call to anyone who may have something at stake. If you don't have a separate pooner phone then you should be clearing out texts, incoming/outgoing calls and delete any sexy pics that are sent to you. Even though the pics are small treasures, it is just not worth keeping them.

You may wake up one morning and find yourself outed on The Dirty. It's happened to a number of SP's here who had some real jerk clients who for what ever reason gave out their real names and their Professional Names too.
