Should I or shouldn't I: Travel Solo to Vegas or ?

I have to get the fuck out Vancouver...this weather just blows, lol. I'm thinking of taking off to Vegas for maybe 5 days or a week. My clubbing days are long gone. Now, it's more like just chilling by the pool or beach and trying to recharge from all the insanity this concrete jungle brings.

I talked to a few people, mostly girls and for the most part, they really feel sad for males who travel alone unless it's on business. Basically, they think they're losers for not going with any friends.

Some of my reservations about travelling solo is how people will perceive me and security. I know one dude who always travels alone, but he is quite egotistical and role models himself after Clint Eastwood. In fact, he does have a similar stature as Eastwood and in some ways more intimidating. He never has any issues when travelling solo. Another factor is getting dinged for the single supplement. I have heard many stories where people are charged for a single supplement but in fact are given a "single" room when they should've been giving a regular room. Sometimes, they weer successful in getting the room they paid for, other times they were not.

What's everyone's opinion on travelling solo?

I travel solo for business all the time. Never a problem. The single supplement is usually just for cruises and airline tickets that come as a package. If you book a flight and hotel, you get what you pay for.

Been to Vegas twice, I know everyone has different tastes in travel but I dont see how that place is relaxing. Its traffic and lots of concrete too.

Vegas is great alone. I go to Vegas 4-5 times a year and alone at least half the time.
You might not want to go to dinner at some high end place, but other than that...

I always do better picking up ladies alone.
Suck when my friends are there.

Next trip is alone in August, airfare with exit row seats, 3 nights at Caesars, midweek....$390.
My buddies get thrifty too at times. Sometimes 4 per room.
Married guys with kids saving money.

I travel all the time for business too.
Only thing that sucks is restaurants alone.

If I travel by myself for business or pleasure, hitting up a restaurant on my own is not an issue. I just bring a book or newspaper. That keeps me occupied instead of just sitting there waiting for my food.

It's nice to have a wingman, but for Vegas, it's not necessary as long as you hang out at the right places.

And it never closes...

I play poker, and there's always a game going somewhere, which relaxes me.

It's cheap, once you figure the angles (rewards cards can get you free rooms Without Points, some buffets are all you can eat for 24 hours, so late dinner, breaky, lunch early dinner for $25) and there is always something to do/see. Exhibits, shows, lots of cool stuff (and again, with the right angles, free or almost free (Tix for Tonite, or listen to a presentation about condos...)

And, as a previous poster noted, the pools are loaded with hot babes (especailly at the higher end hotels, although the Miss America pageant was at Planet Hollywood last week)

Haven't partaken of the SP community there yet, will next time probably, but BP is full of ads, and with Tineye, you can weed out the chaff. And most love coming to your room.

So, yeah, Vegas,baby,Vegas.

Vegas is fun but also REALLY hot in the summer. I was just talking to my gf there the other day and she was complaining about how hot it is lol. Summer has arrived in Vegas.

Why not come check out San Diego? We have awesome weather here. Tons of beaches for surfing, diving, or just relaxing and taking in all the sites (lots of hot bods). I would also suggest checking out the gaslamp downtown. There are some really nice hotels there with amazing roof top pools and bars. San Diego has a lot to offer.... I guess that's why I never left. It's like being on a permanent vacation :p

Vegas is okay for a short trip, but you need to go when it's hot so you can enjoy the pools and the skanks around them...

That being said, Vegas is overrated....I would rather be somewhere with awesome beaches than endless slot machines anyday...

San Diego is a great place to be anytime of the year. Never too hot or cold. A lot better weather than LA. Since it's USA, pooning is very tricky there, but lots of hot girls!

Yeah you gotta be real careful pooning in the US that's why I like seeing Addison when I'm in San Diego, I use to see her when she lived up here so I know I have nothing to worry about! Was kinda hoping to see her when she's in Van next month but I'll be in San Diego:frusty:

LOL....you sure are a complainer :D A tough guy to please.
No kidding, where else in the developed world can you stay at 4-5 star hotels, with direct flights (from Bellingham)
for near the price of Vegas.

I was thinking of going to Kelowna. It is literally cheaper to fly to vegas and stay at Caesars.
Including taxi to and from the airport, and parking in Bellingham.

Than driving to Kelowna and staying at a 3 star place for 3 nights.

If Vegas is too boring, rent a car when you are there

Go forth, travel solo and have fun. I travel solo all the time and it can be a blast. No whinny people, sleep in, do your own thing on your own schedule. Meet new people, make friends and enjoy.

Thanks guys....I was just talking to a collegue today and he said it's best to go with a Wingman but I think you guys are right when you say you dont necessarily need one. Where are the "right" places then in Vegas?

I never thought of San Diego, but as far as costs for hotel and accomodation or eats go? Can it beat Vegas? In Vegas you can have a decent 10 oz steak and beer for $8. And if you want to eat cheaply, there are always the buffets off the strip like at the Orleans.

Been to Vegas a Few times. mangaed to get laid every nite without a problem. Dress well and just hangout and eventually you will find something. OR else there is Eros Las Vagas. or go to a stripclub and get few dances with a chick and ask her for her number. but the Sps out there sometime like to get hit on and then offer there services. But lots of hott girls. you have to spend at least 4 Benjamin to G note to get quality.
have fun, Trust me you will. Oh and bring double the cash you budget. I ended up spending 2 grand a day, but it was VIP all the way

The newest casino in Vegas is The cosmopolitan. Make sure you book in advance. I would also suggest the pool at TAO. Younger crowd lots of hot bods.

As for SD, it's not Vegas lol but sure there are still deals to be had. Especially with the economy being what it is... There is a hotel called The Pearl in Point Loma. It is a boutique hotel. They have an awesome bar and restaurant. The hotel is offering a package for the summer. Stay two nights for $300 and receive a $100 voucher to use at the bar and restaurant. They also have movie nights where you can watch either in the heated pool or at the bar and restaurant.
That being said there are some unique places here in SD. Pick your poison and do your research. Im sure wherever you pick you will have a blast.

Oh and as for my opinion as to going it alone... I say do it. Women are more receptive to a single male vs one who has a wingman ;) Good luck and happy hunting!
