This is really starting to upset and scare me. My very large friend/ human pit bull is coming over to spend the night with me. OK dude, you won! You can move on, now.

I am a person who tries to avoid drama, respect everyone, stay private and keep a low profile. Who ever you are, please just leave me alone and stop harassing me. This is uncalled for. If I can find out any information on who you are I will report it to the police.

I am going to contact Cl and report the harrassment.

The problem is, when it`s flagged he can repost it. Copy the ad, delete your number and repost it. That way when he tries to repost it, it will say duplicate ad, cannot post

Sorry to keep making this thread go on and on, it's just I don't know what to do now and this is getting creepy!

He has now almost perfectly described my apartment where I live in the most recent ad.

I have never had anything like this happen to me before (I've never had any dealings with lawyers or police or anything) and really don't have any enemies in my life. All I wanted to do was let people know what was up and now I am being continually harassed with endless phone calls.
I just want to be left alone. When a woman asks you for this simple courtesy, you should comply. If anyone has any information about this guy please contact me (NOT BY PHONE!! -lol) so i can contact the police.

I am sure I don't have the whole story but why do you think the postings on CL and this person trying to sell you reviews is connected?

As I said, I am sure there are things I don't know but according to this thread the CL poster has only targeted you.

Maybe it is an old boyfriend/girlfriend.

Probably because he threatened to exact revenge on her, as she wrote above, and then shortly after her number was posted all over Craigslist.

Why? Because I have no other enemies and this happen directly after he threated to ruin me if I posted on perb.

The only people I keep close to me are the kind of people who would not stoop so low. I have only had one relationship in the last 5 years and he is the one who is keeping me company through this. I don't not spread malicious gossip nor act in a manner that would bring me enmity like this. I understand that this is the internet and few people here actually know me well enough to judge my character.

I haven't been posting here in ages and I've been leading a quiet life, close to only a few dear and trusted friends, avoiding any kind of public controversy, if I was not 100% sure that it was this "John Smith" I would not have mentioned anything here. But since it is directly connected to perb and I need your guys help to flag the ads.

I don't know why he has singled me out. He kept sending me messages yesterday after all I did was send a quick email him a few words rejecting his offer. In fact others may be going through the same thing only they have decided to handle it differently.

It's important, in addition to the flagging, to report each and every post to the CL Abuse dept (abuse@craigslist.org). Put 911 in the subject line, include the posting id, and make it clear they are violating the posting agreement:

If craigslist believes that you impersonated someone by posting an ad in their name, or with their contact information, without their explicit consent, you authorize craigslist to release any and all information about you to the victim,

The more complaints you submit, the faster this guy will get blocked/banned from posting on CL. Someone recently had some success by calling CL directly. Keep copies of the ads, not just the links.

I have been making screenshots of everything and keeping records. CL has gotten back to me and stated something along the lines of trying to prevent this person posting it again.

I also just received an e-mail for someone who thinks they may know who it is...

Anyway, changing my number (I was really hoping I wouldn't have to) and never reposting it in a public way again. I will post my new email in a few weeks if/when I become a paid advertiser again.

Hopefully this person will get bored of their game. I will not post again on this matter and give said person the satisfaction of a reaction. I encourage everyone to do the same.
