I am here humbly asking people who can tell me which is better?

I just got big, top of the line LCD HDTV and I want to watch hockey on HD

Some people have good bad experiences with telus or shaw, my karma is bad experience with Shaw. I cant stand their customer service but I have no problem with Telus.

People say Bell offer better product than Shaw, but Bell customer serice is horrible. Anyone experience this?

Accounting for everything, who would you give your hard earned money for HDTV?

Thank you

I cancelled Shaw because of crummy service. I switched to Bell who also have lousy service and for months I've been battling with them because they keep overcharging my bill. When the system works its OK but if there is rain, snow, fog, wind or low cloud the signal is often lost.

I don't know about Telus, but I'm going to drop Bell when my contract is up.

Been on Bell for years, more HD channels than shaw, and I have never had a problem with customer service. Only once in the last five years have I lost signal, and it was during a very severe thunderstorm, hail/rain was so heavy i couldn't see the tree in front of my house, but only lost it for less than a minute.

If you really want high def, you have to go with Bell. It is double the picture quality of shaw. The only pain with Bell is the initial set-up. Once you're on to your 2nd bill it's perfect.

I've been searching and the reading I get is that,

Bell offers higher quality HD (some says Shaw is not good enough)
but they tend to over invoice and long time to get money back.

How is the signal get to receiver from the dish when the weather
is bad (blocking the signal)? Is this new technology?

Shaw would be easy, just plug in, you are done;
however, I dont like the way they do business.
I have finally got some serious offer for their HD box but thats after
almost a month of nagging/threatening them.
(I have substantial invoice due and pay on time each month for many years)
I expected them to take care of me, like I take of my good customers.
This leaves me in bad taste.

There was a flyer in the mail from Shaw promoting exchange Bell for
Shaw HDPVR($700/$800 value). That is a good promotion... then got me thinking.
NOW, my eyes opened up and realized Bell is their main competition
in equal terms. Shaw is trying to capture the market share by doing this.
Star choice is owned by shaw, so I wouldnt consider them

I've talking to few people in the industry and found that the people
either love or hate Bell ExpressVu. When it works, it works GREAT, MUCH better than Shaw,
unfortunately, not everyone experience same quality it seems.

The general consensus is that Bell has much better, higher quality HD signal,
therefore, better picture quality than Shaw HD.
Bell has +30 HD channels, Shaw 7
Shaw is easy to hook up, constant service, no down time.
Bell cant be set up in condo or townhomes, unless they are allowed
Bell customer service do not get respect from their customers.

The monthly subscription is about the smae.

I hope this helps to people who is considering to subscribe to Bell or Shaw HD

shaw over bell view

I had bell. Lousy service I cancelled. still waiting for my money. Went back to Shaw. Alot better service. Don't notice quality difference in Hd. Depends on how many hd channels you watch. I did not want all those hd channels as some I never watched.

In my house
Shaw has a new cheaper hd box with two tuner picture in picture and 160g hard drive -- its not made by motorola -but a company called "pace" - its not sold by retailers but avail directly via shaw its about 448 - much cheaper than the motorola one. I've been looking at the same options - big advantage for me to think of shaw is the bundling with internet and overall its cheaper. Bell may have more HD and better quality, but Shaw has good selection of sports and movies, so thats good enough for what I am looking for...

I have Shaw and love it. Can't speak of Bell as I have never had it. All I know is my HD, makes watching sports and porn.....I mean, makes watching sports much better ;)
Where are you finding the HD porn? I must've scrolled through that fucking menu 15million times looking for it!

I've had a Shaw HD box for about 3 years. I get 25 HD stations. My only complaint was the intermittent loss of sound and the picture freezing. This lasts for a couple of minutes at worst. Hasn't happened in the last couple of months though.
