Shaw Cable moving Golf Channel to digital

I don't know why there even is a Golf Channel. There are plenty of other sports that are more deserving of their own dedicated channel on regular cable. And why did it take so long for the Golf Channel to bolt.

Okay, okay confession. I have to admit, I thought golf was boring at first, but I got excited watching Olympic Womens Curling. I can get pretty intense.

Satlellite TV is not much of an improvement over digital cable. I have Dishnetwork Satellite in Seattle and the only reason I have is to get the NHL center ice package so I can follow the Senators and Penguins all season.

Watching Golf on TV does suck period.

Say what you want but if you've ever played the game with any regularity, you would understand and have a great sense of appreciation for the game and how good these guys really are. Tiger Woods is probably the single most dominant athlete of all time.

At a time when hockey is becoming nothing more than a game of special teams being decided by a skills competition, there's not much else to choose from in the sporting world.
