My wife would like me to "clean her up". So, i am looking for helpful techniques to do the job right.

What i am looking for is there better types of razors, creams and any way of avoiding in grown hairs.

I throw this out to the ladies cause god knows that you must have the most experiance with this daily chore...

thanks

If she is very finely haired, then I like to just trim it, but not trim it 100%. It might feel slightly stubby, but then that is better than to trim it 100% and have the razor burn feeling. This technique works well with Oriental women's thin haired kitties. :)

Get the wax out.

It might hurt a little, but then you will have to kiss it better.

No idea if there is an ideal way.

If this is her first time going clean then there probably isn't going to be an easy way, but a wax will keep it away for a weeek or two, but look-out when it starts to come back. I think no matter which way you go, it takes some conditioning, first time shave, in two days nothing short of a BBQ brush is going to satisfy that itch. If she shaves it again while its just coming in and a little redness is appearing,, the next day you'll be able to grill a steak on it. So shave it off, let it come back and all the redness heal and shave it again, this may be 10 days, shave it again, leave it, shave it, try shortening the waiting period, and within about six weeks or so she may be able to shave with very little or no redness or itch on a daily basis. I have no idea if waxing is the answer. Some people recommend nair and other products, no idea if they work when the hair is just starting to come back. Razor just takes some time thats all.

how mia stays so smooth...

Step 1: Soak in a warm tub for about 10 minutes
Step 2: Apply a very thin layer of vaseline over area to be shaved and give a few minutes to settle in. You can sit back in the tub while it does this.
Step3: Get really good shaving cream and slather on. I find it easiest to sit on the side of the tub at this point.
Step 4: I use that mach3 turbo razor, that vibrates. I really dont recommend using anything else. For the closest shave, try to stretch small areas at a time with one hand while shaving with the other, or get some help! Rinse, rinse, rinse that razor! The vaseline might build up otherwise.
Step 5: After rinsing off and drying, apply Tend Skin to shaved area. This is the most amazing product on earth for ingrown hairs. nothing stops razor burn, ingrowns, red bumps, etc like this stuff. It might sting just a little at first, but TRUST ME when I say that 3 seconds of ouch is worth it compared to the misery of shaving without it!! You can order it online from www.tendskin.com

Magic Shaving Powder

I always thought it seemed a little harsh but a lot of the girls I knew in the Bay area were using Magic Shaving Powder, which is a depilatory meant for black men's beards. Did the trick, but I can't imagine that it felt as nice as some careful attention.

I heard they cost a BRAZILLION dollars.

Brazillian waxes on the other hand are quite affordable.

Shave. If she likes it, then invest in a wax, but it's way too painful the first time to do it unless she's sure.

Use a product called bikini zone to prevent razor bumps.

Don't forget the crack. :D

I have used bikini zone, too, but I'd recommend Tend Skin over that any day. Bikini Zone is easier to get (drug store), but if you can get your hands on some T.S. at a specialty skin store, stock up! You might have a hard time finding it in a store, as it is no longer allowed to be sold in canada (like most good things ;) ) It is easily available on the net though...once you try it, you'll never go back! :D

macaco ..I remember you..great guy :)

I ended up getting a brazilian wax. It was painful..YES! I was breaking a sweat. But for $45 I am worry free til 4-6 weeks. The esthetician advised that a few wax jobs will make your hair growth steady..and make them thinner. She also said the 2nd time isn't always so bad...

* the crack was included in the brazilian..hehe Scarlett

I'll let you know how round 2 goes for me.... :D
How long does the hair have to be to be able to wax it?
