This is so horrible :(:(

A sex trade worker was allegedly beaten with a blunt object on Friday, Feb. 12 at 3:45 a.m. after she was picked up by a man driving a pickup truck near Government and Pembroke streets, according to police. The 26-year-old woman climbed out the truck window while it was still moving and was admitted to hospital with severe facial injuries.

Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to call Victoria police at 250-995-7281 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

M1A, anybody else, would cell phones and a number these women could leave a voice or text message at with a license number be of any help? Make it safer for them or make it easier to track down the predators?

Of course it could... potentially... except for the fact that the LAW doesn't allow the woman enough time to do that. She has to get IN that vehicle before anything is even discussed, which is obviously very dangerous. I have never worked outside, so my ideas are not rooted in experience, but I guess one thing that might help would be to work with a friend who could take down the license plate number while it drives away with the woman. That isn't very practical, though, because then who is to look out for the one who is left behind if she gets a date? I don't know what could work, with the laws as geared against safety as they currently stand. I'm think that any safety measures that can realistically be taken are, and it obviously isn't enough!!
