As far as I recall, I've sent four escorts away, two at the door and two very early into the session. but none in the last 15 years or so. The advent of review boards has helped me to avoid similar problems.
1. Thunder Bay circa 1990 - Incredible Bait and Switch
I phoned an agency and selected the lady who answered the phone. She described herself as "27, black, 5'-6", 125 lb., 34-24-34". 45 minutes later, there was a knock on my hotel room door. The woman standing there was around 40, Caucasian, blonde, 5'-2" and at least 200 lb.!! Her stringy hair looked like it hadn't been washed for three weeks. I told her that there must have been a mistake, described who I expected and told her to leave. Even when I suggested it was entirely the agency's fault, she was still very upset and rudely demanded $50 just for showing up. I refused, and told her I was going to call the agency to complain. She eventually left with nothing. I did call the agency, and got no answer. I just left things at that. They didn't call me back. I have no idea whether she knew of the switch beforehand.
2. Saskatoon circa 1985 - The Funniest
I called the agency and made my selection. When the escort knocked on my door, I noticed right away that she smelled like a brewery and she almost fell flat on her face trying to enter my room. I stopped her and sent her away. She didn't argue much - she could hardly talk anyway! The agency called back a few minutes later and demanded that I pay a cancellation fee. I refused and told them how drunk the escort was. They backed off and offered a replacement. I refused, and called another agency.
3. Edmonton circa 1984 - The Scariest
The escort arrived, collected her fee, called the agency, and sat down to chat. After a couple of minutes, she excused herself to go to the bathroom, and left the door slightly ajar. She was very quiet and seemed to be taking a long time. Normally, I would never spy or peek, but I got really bad vibes, so I tippytoed to the door and peeked through the crack. She was sitting on the throne, fully clothed, sticking a needle in her arm! I didn't want her lunging at me with it, so I went back and waited for her to reappear. A few minutes later, she reappeared naked, seemingly ready for action. I told her I had changed my mind and she should get dressed and leave. When she started to protest, I told her she could keep the money anyway. I didn't let on why, and she didn't argue. After she left, I called the agency and told them what happened. They weren't very cooperative or sympathetic, so I just wrote it off as a bad experience.
4. Thunder Bay circa 1988 - The Saddest
The escort arrived, collected her fee, called the agency, and we chatted for a few minutes. When we were seemingly starting the real action, she started to shake, and burst into tears, saying, "I just can't do this!" She actually offered me my money back! It turned out that I was her very first call. She had been laid off from her financial sector job in Toronto and turned to escorting in T. Bay because she was desperate for money. When the crunch came, she couldn't go through with it. I felt sorry for her (I was absolutely convinced it wasn't a scam), so I let her keep $40 "for her time". She said she didn't care if I called the agency because she wasn't going back anyway. I did call them and explained what happened. To their credit, they offered a replacement at a reduced rate, but it was late, and I had lost interest anyway.
Sometimes you just have to dig your heels in and turn them away without any money. Otherwise, they'll never learn, and they'll keep on scamming. The only exception might be if you feel endangered somehow.
