Really, are you this obtuse in real life or just on the internet? But you do get the
gold star... --
wacky as it is, it fits.
I do like, tho, that in one post it's "no one said this," cause it's too stupid to believe, to "Maybe Reagan
was right about them deadly trees...." A real true believer, I'll give you that
So now on tobocco it's not "I hadn't heered that since the 1970's" to "By 1994, the tobacco companies had given up denying that smoking causes cancer." Now it will be "Bob Dole never said those things he was said to have said when he said it." & of course your attempt is that "Of course right wingers never believe anything absurd, we're always right (extreme right)."
The whole point of my list is simply to put, flat out, the ridiculous things right wingers believe as a matter of course. & how statements from the recent past have proven so ludicrous ("Rock'nRoll... serving blacks..."), the new ones right wingers trot out ("Gays are bad...abortion is bad...") are equally as ludicrous, but you're frothing at the mouth too much to see it.
Your response "I don't know any right wingers that believe these things"??? HAH! how funny.
Because y'all are using the same tactics -- the same tactics on one issue
(defending Big Tobacco & refusing to acknowledge the evidence linking it to addiction & cancer)
w/ every other issue that comes down the line
(defending Big Oil & refusing a.) that there's global warming & then b.) OK there's global warming but humans don't cause it & inevitably to c.) OK there's global warming and humans caused it but now it's too late to do anything about it)
The central point y'all do is, protect the established company line (& profits), no matter what.
But you keep on trying to dodge credit for ludicrous statements by trying to claim "That's old hat, from before my time, from the 1970's or 1960s, etc., that doesn't reflect conservative thought today" to try & tie people up in showing the truth.

DISPLAYING ABSTRACT - In a contentious television interview broadcast this morning, Bob Dole charged that the "liberal media" were promoting the Democratic line in questioning his statement that tobacco may not be addictive to everyone.
"We know smoking tobacco is not good for kids, but a lot of other things aren't good. Drinking's not good. Some would say milk's not good."

Sen. Robert J. Dole, 1996
"OK, I can't no longer deny global warming, but it's caused by trees... it ain't affecting weather patterns, it still gets cold in January (or if not, then February)... hurricanes just happen...."
