Heidi Fleiss was the big fish busted in 1997. Escort service business is typically no where near as glamourous as Madam Hollywood's enterprise in LA.

From there, it became an American tradition. Since, every major city in the US has seen escort service busts. With popularity of the internet, cops don't even have to go out and hunt down these weekly newspapers. With two-thirds of ever rising sales taxes going to fund the police, stations have come up with new cyber crimes units. Now, they have an overweight dork with shaven head sitting before the internet in HQ going thru adult ads.

Busts have risen with the general rise in crime since 2005. Just when you thought things had gone from bad to worse, a few weekly newspapers have quit publishing adult ads altogether after three classified staff members of a weekly newspapers got busted for accepting adults ads.

It's sad considering that the US has the world's highest rape rate, which is 13 times higher than that of England and 20 times higher than that of Japan. One in three victims are under the age of 12 and two in three victims are under the age of 18. But again, in the US, we look at everything with one eye only.

Ironic you bring up Heidi Fleiss. She is in trouble with the law again. She got busted this past week in Nevada. Impaired driving and possession of narcotics as well.
