Sigh. Yet another. Her ad says "Stay the night with me babe".

I contacted her asking her rates and she immediately replied "Just so you know I require a deposit for new clients for my protection - hope that ok with you". Great start. I don't know when it started becoming acceptable to ask for money for nothing, but in the last few years it has gotten bad. I asked why I needed to give a deposit. She replied "I've been taken advantage of before". I asked how, and how my sending money to a stranger would prevent that. (This is the whole point, there is NO cogent argument for sending money in advance. It doesn't protect anyone, you could still be dangerous. It does however let one party, who has not proven their identity steal from the other.)

She replied "Ok bye" to my polite reasonable question.

I said I pay up front immediately so there was no chance of being scammed. Nothing. Clearly she(he?) is the scammer.

I'm a broken record, but 4 years ago with BP 80% of ads were legit, there was no deposit bs, and no onlyfans (a legit business, but it's not escorting - post those ads elsewhere), and we had some good locals and great touring sp's. Now most pictures are fake(many real sp's use fake pictures), and I would say 80% of the ads are scams. WTF happened?

I have no problem sending deposit to a reputable girl or even paying in full via deposit to a girl that I have met before. Most girls are very professional during the booking process however more and more are becoming very abrasive which is a huge turn off. I do understand that they deal with quite a few dick bags but we all shouldn't be guilty until proven innocent.

Personally, I don't see the point in arguing about it with an SP. If they want a deposit and you are unwilling to provide one, move on. Expecting someone to change their mind, with cogent arguments or otherwise, through a texting conversation and in this line of business is not gonna happen. Speak with your wallet instead and I think you'll find better results.

EDIT: Also, when she said she was taken advantage of....that could mean all sorts of things, not just the risk of physical threat like I think you took it to mean. It can also mean a client was a no-show in which case a deposit protects them a bit against time wasters.

Well within the context and flow of the conversation, you would be currently engaged in settling on an agreement. It would be respectful to carry the negotiation to it's end, for better or worse. It would be a lot better for her to show her reviews, and if she doesn't have any THEN tell her you're moving on. Instead of just ghosting her, giving her more reason to be distrustful towards men (that is, IF she is a legit provider and not a scammer that failed to bait you)

I agree 'vote with your wallet', but she still has to know, for the sake of her brand, that money isn't going her way for the sake of her good word only. She should know as well, men have been burned on the other side of the issue as well.
