Scale of 10?

So, on a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate ... ?

There are a lot of ratings on this site and others based on a scale of ten. The thing is, everyone seems to have their own idea of how that scale works.

My thought have always been that it should be a pretty straight forward scale of percentages. IE, everything would be broken up into equal parts. 10% would rate a 1; 10% would rate a 5 and 10% would rate a 10.

Apparently some people prefer a bell curve in their ratings, where most are lumped into the 5 rating and far less are deemed a 1 or 10.

Which method do you all use?

I stopped using the scale of 10 system long ago. I find it is demeaning to the ladies being reviewed. It is another person that is being reviewed. I believe in treating the ladies with the respect that they deserve and that doesn't include rating them with numbers.

I see it like this: 1 is the low end of the scale, 10 the high, 5 is average. So if I was to rank a woman's looks as a 7, it would indicate that her looks are a fair bit better than average. Now in this case beauty is the eye of the beholder, so my rating would be conservative to factor that in, but I think i would have it in a range in which I could give as accurate a rating as possible without too much further speculation.

Everybody has different taste in women, cars, movies, computer programs etc but when I rank things, this is the general rule of thumb i use.

I don't use numbers if I don't have to. I agree to it being demeaning.

alin; What if the 5 has a "talent" that is mind blowing? What number then? ;o)

Totally with you on your 10's!

EDIT: The first picture however, if that is your taste COULD be a 10, could she not? Not my taste but I've met some who love the bigger ladies.
That first picture is a -10 for me, sorry. In regards to "talent" - this shouldn't affect how a SP looks. That should be in the "service" scale.

My thing is that if you use an even scale, then 10%(1 in 10) of all women would fit into the 10 category. 20%(1 in 5) would be rated 9 or above. 30% would be 8 or above.

If you use the scale that way, then the vast majority of all providers fall into the top 30% category in my opinion.

I bring this up, because I've been hesitant to write reviews based on the bizarre scaling that some people use. Rating a girl as a 4 when she would clearly be a 7 or 8 in the real world. I've seen reviews where they rate the girl a 6 and say her photos are accurate, but when I look at her photos(or if it's a girl I've seen before) I would have easily given her a 9 or 10.

I dont really consider other people numbers that useful, as we all like our own thing.

But I prefer a scale 0-10, so you get a true 5.0 as the median.
With a standard dev of say 2. On a nice bell.

The 10% straightline for each rating would give too many high findings.
Like if I went to Walmart Sunday morning, and saw 200 women. I dont think i'd see 40, 9s and 10s.

and what actually happens is that if the guy gets ripped off, he rates everything at less than 5

if he doesn't get ripped off, he rates everything at more than five

you be the judge if points out of 10 actually means anything
