The City of Vancover is trying to remove several trees from Broadway. Don't let them. There's got to be another solution. Trees should never be cut down for any reason. Let's try that trenching technique or maybe an elevated ramp over the sections where the roots are. So please phone, write, email or fax the City. Tell them to SAVE THE TREES!!!!

I would normally say save the trees as well. But in this case, it is causing a safety issue. What I would do instead is uproot the trees, and plant new ones.
Just cuz you uproot a tree doesn't necessarily mean it's done for. You can still plant it somewhere else (though might not be as effective).

It is a safety issue, so let the chopping begin - give the wood to the homeless and they can build campfires....feed the chestnuts to the squirrels and then the homeless can trap the squirrels and roast them over their new campfires!
