Saturday Cartoons?

Saturday cartoons don't exsist like they did in times past. I sat down with my young neice last Saturday morning and there was more adult shit on TV then i can ever remember. I say lets restore Saturday morning TV to the kids. I do have digital TV so i switched to the kids programming that they have, however one shouldn't have to have special programing to allow there kids to programs geared for them.

As much as i like adult animated programing like the Simpsons. I would like to see Warner Brothers or whoever owns the rights to the old classics like Bugs Bunny, Willie E Coyote, Elmer Fudd or some of the old Disney classics restore these with new episodes geared for children. Thats my rant for early Friday the 13th morning. --- Kev

Saturday morning cartoons aren't nearly as good as they once were.

in the late 80's/early 90's everyone used to get up early and just sit on their asses for 4 hours of entertaining t.v.

stuff like ninja turtles, the super-mario brothers super show, he-man and more.



even today, they try to re-hash the same stuff in a more modern way but it stinks like crap.

I used to get up extra early to go to the neighbours place so I could watch Starblazers (we only had basic cable back then which didn't include some of the US channels)

I still remember when the networks would specifically advertise the new Saturday morning lineup. For some reason though, The Smurfs was on for like two hours straight. 100 Smurfs and 1 Smurfette.....damn, I bet she could of made some serious coin!

The problem is, back then, there were only about 30 channels....no Cartoon Networks, no Family Channels, or anything like that. Most cartoons are now on these specialty channels.

Not to mention the fact that most cartoons nowadays are directly linked to some form of toy tie in. Do they even have cartoons today where you CAN'T buy an action figure at the local toy store?

I used to love Saturday cartoons as well, I remember the original Under Dog, and Space Ghost! Only black and white then,
