San Diego? Any suggestions?

I find myself traveling (for pleasure) to San Diego in a couple weeks... I've never been, other than the normal suggested Zoo's and Aquariums. (I'm not into animal captivity) ... Outstanding places? Beaches? Restaurants? I'd love some input. Hotels already booked but other than that I'm up for suggestions.

I have not been there since 2006, but the Gas Lamp district has many great restaurants and a lot of entertainment. Old Town has the Spanish influence if you like that. If you golf, Balboa has a great course and of course, Torrey Pines. As for beaches, go to Coronado, you will also might get a chance to see the SEALS training on the beach. Hope this helps.

I should go there this summer, my old buddies gave me a call last month to come back down there for a couple of weeks and relive our fun times.

Zona Norte just 15 mins walk from the border in Tijuana. See something very different than anything USA or Canada has to offer. I know you're not a dude but you know you can still have some fun there.

Thanks everyone, seriously, it helps, thank god for the online world before you travel!
I'm excited , it looks like such a interesting place, I'm staying very close to the Gaslamp Quarter which seems appropriate as it was quite the "gentlemen's entertainment " area back in the day ;)

I know everywhere on the coast is beautiful but this place seems to have an interesting multi ethnic vibe which I love. I need to restock the Tequila so I will head as close to Tijuana as I feel safe . :D

Again, thanks.
