Won a trip for four to Jasper on the snow train. Totally shocked me - thought you never won anything playing those contests.
I won a broom handle in my ass!!!!
Whoever works at safeway here; bail on that fukkin 2 for the price of 1.5
The other day for example I want some cookie mix. I'm not paying $8 for some fukkin cookie mix and I don't want 2 of them. Why can't you just take the $4.99 price of 1 and knock a buck off.
Example 2: I wanted some Oreo cookies. Two packs for $8. I don't want two fukkin pack I just want one for christs sake, but If I just get one it's no fukkin deal.
This is off topic, but we all know what Iceberg Lettuce is. It's the cheap lettuce with the least amount of vitamins that places like McDonalds usues and so-on. The other week I go inthere and see right at the front door 10 heads of lettuce for $10. I'm like get the fukk outta town. WTF do I need 10 lettuce's for
I can't finish one before it goes all brown looking.
This may sound likea a rant but compared to what I think of that shit hole save on foods I was kissing Safeways ass.

It's marketing bullshit. If they say 2 packs of poo flavored shit is 8 bucks, then one pack is still $4. They just get all the suckers out there to buy 2 packs. I thought no one fell for it, but I guess I am wrong. Just swipe your club card and it's all taken care of.
It USED to be like that, but in recent years, they've changed it so you can still get one for 1/2 price. I've verified this at Save On Foods (eg. if something is 5 for $4, then each will be 80 cents and you only need to buy 1). If it's an odd number... for example if something is 3 for $5, then the first 2 will be $1.67 and the next 1 will be $1.66. I have not double checked at Superstore yet, but I THINK they still use the old method of the first 4 at regular price and then the 5th one is like 1 penny or something stupid like that. Safeway, I think is the same as Save On Foods. Maybe I will double check this next time I'm at Safeway, but I see little reason to shop at Safeway now. It used to be Safeway had the best service, Superstore had the best prices especially in bulk or bigger size items but not as "fresh" in certain items and the poorest service, and Save-On was in between and was probably the best overall. I usually go to Save-On with the OCCASIONAL trip to Superstore if I need to "stock up" on certain items. Safeway is just damn expensive and their service isn't any better than Save-On so there really is no reason to shop at Safeway any more. I won 25$ Safeway Cash... So I went in & bought plants, plants, plants... Outdoor plants galore... (As much as you can for 25$ ) Then when I went to pay & the cashier girl gave me more... I won again... & The lady beside me won an electric knife. One other time I won a small barBq grill... So me likes Safeway...
Oh one can never have too many outdoor plants of COLOR to brighten one's world, is my philosophy... So it was a good day

And you also know that the reason its on sale like that is because its already at the end of its shelf life and starting to go bad already.
The Real Canadian superstore is way worse than Safeway. Usually safeway if it says two for $4.00 when you swipe your card you get the one for half price. The superstore, it says right on the shelf that the deal is only for multiple purchases. Like I want to by 5 roasts, 10 bags of cookies, 3 boxes of laundry detergent. And they never clean up the produce ailses ... so there's bloody produce going mouldy and bad right in the bins ... disgusting.

Their prices aren't all that shit (maybe it would be different if I was buying for a family of 9 vs. just me), their stores are usually filthy (at one location in Edmonton you could actually see mouse traps located all over the store), and this may make me sound like a bit of a snob...I'm not prepared to pay for the bags I need and pack them myself!

The only Superstore that I've been to that is nice is the one in North Van. It's clean and bright. As for HiFi's comment on not wanting to pay for bags-- I think that's false economy. Everything else is cheaper, so who cares if they make you shell out 2 cents a bag.
