Safe to share ID or linkedin?

I am interested in seeing some high end providers in vancouver (Amelia Omar, Emma Sinclair etc) but they are asking for either ID or linkedin profile info. Is it safe to share that info especially if you have a reputable career and work info is visible online? Risk of extortion? I don't have recent reviews from independent provider so that's why they are asking for either ID or linkedin. How many of you have shared this info successfully without any negative consequences?

Makes sense. So if I am going to do it, do only with well known providers. Any thoughts on sharing such info with Amelia Omar, Emma Sinclair ? Nothing personal here ofcourse....its just that those are the ones I found very attractive and would love to see them. Just doing my due diligence. Thanks.

Not worth the risk. I suggest just seeing a reputable provider and getting the provider to give a reference. That’s what I did recently. Went to a $350 per hour independent provider and have the provider help me with reference to the higher end provider.

Good strategy but some providers don't accept references and want either ID or linkedin.

Varies now
Your information is never truly safe. Shit happens, phones and laptops get stolen and hacked. Providers are human. Humans sometimes spin out. It's a risk we take.

I shared my LinkedIn when I wanted to see an independent provider. If you're respectful of them then there's no reason they'll turn around and use your information against you. They would rather you have a good experience and repeat.

i would be careful with this, you come out play, why they want to know so much about u? will they do the same for u? not worth the risk, there are plenty of choices out there. 🤭
they are doing this for their own safety, atleast that's the reason IT SEEMS. People can use fake references and so some providers don't accept them.

How would fake references work? Every reference I've given involved the new SP reaching out to the reference on her own. Or are you saying some SPs can't be trusted?

People may have good intentions now but, that can change. We're also talking about people who likely haven't done any training or have knowledge in security. Hell, one SP I knew told me at one point that she thought her ex put spyware on her laptop. Mind you, this was the laptop she did her administration tasks on, including screening.

If a provider requires ID and you want to see her then your choice is to send it or not see her.

I’ve seen a number of “high end” providers over the years that have required ID or Linkedin for initial booking purposes. Like everyone else says, just make sure it’s a well reviewed, established provider and you’ll be fine.

I have provided both. With ID I make sure to blackout most of the sensitive info, address obviously, and dln..
With sharing my Linkedin, I don’t really care that much tbh. It’s essentially a social media platform.

If you’re that worried about it, don’t do it. There are plenty of excellent sp’s out there that don’t require that information.

To add to this, I’d check out Dollhouse as well as they’re more higher end providers that would match what you’re looking for. They accept reference from other known independent providers.

I agree here - just stick to references. Give you an example one high end provider emailed to everyone not long ago that she is moving back to Vancouver. She emailed everyone on her move and there were over 20 plus email addresses that were exposed. That in my view is a breach of trust now everyones sees everyones email.... not cool at all.

Does anyone have the ladies direct ads? I tried to do a screening with DH but got an auto reply that says they r closed until late March.

Appreciate the advice, but also leaves the catch-22 for how to get a reference if you need a reference in order to get your first reference.

If there's a chance for such a scenrio in which you'll think - "What was I thinking when providing my LI or ID?!" - just don't do it.

I shared my ID once and asked what she does with it afterwards. Her response was that she deletes it... but I wonder...

Having a well-reviewed, established provider won't save you in the worst case scenario.

Do a search on Katie Angel.

Used to take IDs for verification and got a new boyfriend who got her pregnant and took over her social media accounts to scam/blackmail her existing and new customers.
