Would it be rude or considered out of the norm, for an sp to ask a new/potential client a little about themselves before actually meeting? Either on the phone or over the internet?

Unless you have preferences though, Amber.

Do you have preferences?

I wouldn't mind at all (Ask away ladies!). I would probably enjoy answering and would also ask a few questions to get to know the lady.

That is too vague a question-what exactly are you asking them?

When conversing, I simply say,"Can you tell me a bit about yourself..." (this is usually done through pm's, or through email...) I like learning about people, and by no means am I trying to size someone up or down...just really more than anything making conversation...

I'd say it depends what you are asking and why.

A few escorts want to know a lot of personal information (Some time ago I recall there was a discussion of someone who wanted to know where the SR (Service Recipient) worked etc. That's ridiculous in my opinion.) I can understand the safety argument, but with untraceable phones, fake ids etc. it's probably a waste of time and will probably lose you a lot of decent clients who want/need to be discreet.

If you have good reasons and can explain them clearly, then it could well be a plus for both parties. If you're trying to find out if this person is someone who you'd be comfortable "spending time with" or to make sure that their interests and your services are in sync, you could well be saving your client (and yourself) from a less than desirable situation.

There was a recent discussion about girls "flirting" with clients which a number of guys admitted they liked. We all know that the intimacy is an illusion 99+% of the time, but it still feels good.

Good Question!

I think that since this is all a whole new world...its more the I-know-what-kindof-to-expect-when-I-arrive-scenario. Just to give me basics...even if they're lying...it doesn't matter...maybe just age, where they grew up...that sortof stuff...OR MAYBE, they feel that there might be some prejudice if they include too much info about themselves...or MAYBE I'm just thinking too much and i should just stop :) ;)

I don't think it's rude at all....there's no boundaries when it comes to her safety and comfort!!!
For me....she can ask me anything she wants....i'll be 100 % honest and truthful.....that' s my nature !!!

Also..for me....I'd want her to feel like she's know me for awhile.....I'm very down to earth......:) :) :p

That's my 2 bits and hope it helps....:) :) :)

Thanks smother...it does help...seems like the consensus is that its ok for an sp to ask that...strange how actually asking in that context has given me a very different response out of so many.

Amber put me through the ringers, guys. I had to list the last 3 jobs, last 5 GF's, 6 SP's that I've seen and names and ages of all children (including illegitimate). ;) :D (Okay, just kidding)
Amber, I do know of a couple of girls that ask which SP's I've seen and if I have done reviews on them (I think viewing someones review can tell you a lot about them). I see nothing wrong in wanting to know what kind of a person you're going to be spending time with.

It might also be a good idea to have them complete a personal worth statement complete with date of birth, SIN and assets listed.

Depends on how you ask. I'm not just going to fill out the checklist for you; you'll have to carefully interrogate me. :) I like to get to know my playmates a little in advance; I'm happy to trade email, IMs or phonecalls to develop a feel for the character she'll play and she can get a feel for the character I play. Sometimes I lie a little (ie. an assumed name) but for the most part, you get me.
