Rise of the Planet of the Apes - August 5th

You all know that human beings are the evolution of apes, right?

I watched the movie Tuesday night and REALLY enjoyed it. It does seem like a sub plot that I thought I noticed from some of the trailers was dropped though. From some of the trailers, I got the sense that Ceasar may have had a romantic companion. There was a brief mention of a "Cornelia" that was taken to the lab. I'm wondering if we'll see some of that in the eventual deleted scenes on DVD or perhaps an extended cut. Also, I enjoyed the way they set up a possible sequel. A couple of subtle moments dropped in along the way and then the coda during the end credits.

The Planet of the Apes did great last weekend in the box office without any big competition with about $ 54 M. Good timing of release. Hopefully, Conan which has almost the same budget as the Apes can duplicate the same performance in a week or 2. If not, the only Conan that you will be seeing in the coming years is that funny guy on TV.

An interesting concept, animals hating. I wonder, can an animal actually hate ?

If they got intelligent enough to understand how terrible we are to them, other animals, and the planet we all share, they would hate us for sure.
