Sir Richard Attenborough has passed away. Though for many of my generation he is simply the mad millionaire creator of "Jurassic Park" but he was also in some of the greatest classics Hollywood ever made. My personal favourite Attenborough role would be in my favourite Steve McQueen movie "The Great Escape". McQueen, Garner, Coburn & Attenborough (among others) brilliantly portraying an incredibly brave group of men.

I just looked at his total filmography on IMDB and its quite substantial in terms of acting, producing, directing etc etc.
