Died of a heart attack at age 74. True legend who had many of his songs covered by people like Clapton, Knopfler, Santana etc.

JJ Cale has been one of my favourite Blues/Honky-Tonk Musicians since I was a kid...wore out Naturally on vinyl...
Loved his easy-going manner and finger-pickin' style...
So sad to hear of his passing...Good pick on the Clapton video badbadboy...
Loved how his version of his songs always were better than the covers, even tho the covers were by awesome musicians...

I actually like all of the songs off the NAturally album. I own both the vinyl and cd versions.
As mentioned above, Clapton covered several of Cale's songs - in fact at least 7 that I know of.
I tried to see Mr. Cale when he came to Vancouver a few years ago. Unfortunately, he appeared in this tiny venue on the Capilano College (now University) campus and I was unable to get tickets. Now I'm sorry I did not pay scalper price to see him.
There was a 2005 documentary: "To Tulsa and Back: On Tour with J.J. Cale" that is worth finding if you are a JJ Cale fan:
