As you can see from the video below it's a thing. Hopefully these poor bastards don't have a friends or a family members that sees his post on Instagram because they're toast. There's no other explanation for what's going on in there everybody knows what's going on.

Which leads me to ask since there's popular buildings in Richmond and Burnaby that have multiple floors with SPs I wonder how many other cameras are set up watching us right now?

Imagine the traffic for one of those service Queens that everybody's posting about that are booked everyday around the clock. You think nobody on that floor notices? Hmmmm....

Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
Interesting. I’m sure a few guys are a bit nervous right now. I own a condo that in Manitoba and my tenant wanted to install a doorbell camera and the Condo Association wouldn’t allow it. Told her hallways are public areas and she can’t record images of people. Apparently you can on a home because your property extends past your front door. In a condo your property ends at the threshold.

The person who made this video and made it public should be ashamed of this because this absolutely violates these men’s privacy. Yes there are some providers who have cameras set up outside of their doors for their safety, but footage should NEVER be shown to anyone let alone leaked online. This is shameful to post online.

Just as much as we want our privacy respected we as providers should respect the privacy of our clients.

My ring camera has caught someone plugging their electric car into my house power, and someone who looked like was walking their pet cheetah. Turns out it was a Serval Savanah cat. It was walking his owner to my house lol

I think you're absolutely correct. The issue here is it's not the provider's door camera it's the neighbors. So pretty much it's the neighbors saying what's going on here. Literally the neighborhood watch responsible citizen getting involved when they think it's their business. It's sad

Yes, cameras are legal in Canada. Although there could be building or strata bylaws regulating them.

I lived in a building with an SP on my floor, and I'd guess the recording might have been made out of frustration.

Neighbours were pissed because of the noise, and the parade of graceless, often half-drunk men knocking on her door (and often the wrong doors) in the wee hours.

It was hell for people who had to get up in the morning.

Things like this don't happen in a vacuum.

This is what I was thinking too. Everyone has a right to privacy but do property owners and hard workering rent payers not have a right to peace and quiet? If there is loud and constant traffic banging on doors 24 hours a day the line will have been crossed and people will take action.

Yep, it’s none of anyone’s business what other people do in their time, and this infringes on people’s right to privacy. This video is also shaming SWers and clients. If this was any other business that was a busy business they would not have posted this in this way. If this was a neighbours camera this is absolutely wrong, and they are the ones creeping on other people.

This is one reason why I have a sound proof blanket over my front door of my work condo from the inside, and I don’t party or allow clients in who do party, keep my music down, and don’t work late. I try to keep quiet, and don’t want to draw attention or bother my neighbours.

I don’t want to draw attention to my condo and try to be respectful of my neighbours. My bed headboard also faces the balcony so no banging on the walls.

I also work from a condo I rent that is work from home safe and use it for my studio as a professional makeup artist as well.

While I can understand the other tenant/owner/s frustration, then you deal with it the same way you would with any other neighbor who was disturbing your peace. I'm sure the Condo Association/Strata has remedies built into their by-laws (or they should). The problem with these public shaming campaigns is that there are always innocent bystanders. What if one of these guys was there for legitimate reasons such as a repair man? Publication of the images could potentially result in a lot of fallout from this and even a law suit.
I recall a situation years ago here in Winnipeg, where a group was upset with the SW's and vehicle traffic in their neighborhood. Especially because kids were being approached by some of these guys. They were photographing and posting images of vehicles on-line. As much as I can understand their anger, there were a few innocent people caught in the in the crossfire who were in the neighborhood on legitimate business. The fallout resulted in their site getting shut down pretty fast. Not sure if there were any law suits or not.
Cheers
J
